I’ve stayed on the cheap in many places in my time, but this ranks among the top three worst by far.
Where to begin. If you get more than two hours’ sleep at a time, it’s a miracle. Between the crack users screaming and loud music blasting and prostitutes either unconvincingly enjoying johns all night or fighting with their…bosses, at all hours (front desk response to one altercation: “It was her fault”), plus front desk staff talking in voices loud enough to be heard a block away while the walls are paper thin, it’s a challenge to find any peace or security in this place.
There are stains on *all* the light colored towels. There are no inside locks on the doors. There is a park full of crack users half a block up the street, and clusters of them hang out in back where the parking area is (often left unattended/unsecured) and try to get into the hotel. There is a hidden and pretty significant parking charge for access to this parking lot.
I think staff is probably trying the best they can, but the general vibe is that they don’t care much for the safety or quality of stay for most guests. A woman was screaming nonstop on my first night in, and nobody even checked on her until it had been over twenty minutes and I asked them to. The prostitute and ‘boss’ fights, same deal.
I would not stay here unless I was: a prostitute, her boss, a drug dealer, a drug user, or so freakin broke and out of options that I just didn’t care about anything anymore.
