Loved the location! We also loved being able to stay in a historic, beautiful hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful at both the check-in and check-out process. We truly felt welcomed right off. The room was small, but we were fine with that. The beds were very comfortable! We also had a nice view from our window. The only tiny critique which the hotel being historic can not help, is that our bathroom has a small step-up. Even though there is a sign there to warn you, I was slightly afraid of tripping on it. This was minor though, as it was truly beautiful inside and out. You are greeted with cookies, fresh lemon water, and coffee/tea at all hours in the lobby. All in all, we loved this hotel and would definitely recommend it to our friends and would stay there again if ever going to San Francisco in the future. Thank you!

Hotel is a nice place. Friendly staff. The bed and pillows were very very comfortable. The room is small, but who needs a big room when you going to spend the whole day outside. Will definitely stay here again
Great location, vibe and value! Loved this hotel and wish I was able to have more time here. Friendly staff along with complimentary water, tea, coffee, cookies, and apples 24/7. Our room with two double, super comfy beds, had no AC, just a ceiling fan but it was all that we needed. Will plan to stay here again.

We were in town for the final Dead & Company shows. Great central location with attentive, professional staff. Squeaky clean rooms. Our new place to stay in SF.
The Chancellor is a gem of a hotel right off Union Square, where you can sit in the beautifully decorated lobby and enjoy complementary coffee and fresh baked cookies, popcorn, or an apple (fuji, my fave) while watching the cable cars go by. The staff are wonderful and the rooms are done beautifully with super comfy beds and luxury bedding - specialty pillow menu allows you to choose just the right one for the best sleep possible. The bathrooms were stylishly redone and there was even a rubber ducky provided for the bath. The parking (extra fee, but reasonable for downtown SF) is just a block away and hassle free. This is a terrific little hotel with a great vibe and lovely amenities... I highly recommend!!!
This hotel worked well for exploring San Francisco for a few days. You can walk to several restaurants and shops or catch a cable car just across the street that will take you down to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to San Francisco.
