Overall we really enjoyed everything from start to finish. I would be nice to be able to arrange for transport from Playa Del Carmen for those that havenât experienced the transport scene. We flew into Cozumel and took the ferry over. The staff was great and attentive. Although we did find food we like at the buffet there was a lot that was lacking. Over seasoned items and poorly prepared items. It as I had said you can find something they fits you. The individual restaurants were not what I have expected. The service was very rehearsed and robotic. Food wasnât great at any of the restaurants we went to that requested reservations. Focus on better preparation and training in the food dept and the place would be off the charts. Well maintained and accessible overall. We will be back again because it was worthy the value and experience.
The resort is BEAUTIFUL! The staff is extremely professional and well mannered. The property maintenance is AMAZING! I did not like that the carts to take you around does not have a set schedule. The food was not so great, the buffet food tasted bland most of the time. The food needs some flavor. The restaurant Dolce Vita had the best tasting food overall. The towels both for the beach and room were SUPER COARSE. Felt like sand paper. We had a spa day anthe staff there was also amazing. We enjoyed our massage. To anyone visiting this resort, BRING WATER SHOES FOR THE BEACH. There are a lot of rocks in the water, some sharp one too. Other than the food and towels situation, I would revisit. Also we had a HORRIBLE experience over at the Privilege Club presentation. The manager JC was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful when we declined to sign for whatever they were trying to sell us. He was so rude that we DID NOT take the voucher for the free massage.
There was an incredible amount of employees (staff) around and available to accommodate and address any needs we had. Never had to wait to be served at the buffets, bars and/or restaurants. There was ample staffing from check-in through check-out. Never a problem. Everyone at the Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal made our vacation a fabulous one. The staff at the front desk assisted us on securing and printing out our return flight documents. Others within the Hotel provided wonderful excursion accommodations. All employees were friendly and we felt as though they really really wanted us to enjoy our stay. The grounds were immaculate. And last but not least the bar tenders were never scarce and provided us with some of the finest drinks and service we have had anywhere.
The restaurants were so hot it was not even pleasant to dine there. There should at least be a/c in some parts of the resort like the nice restaurants.

We stayed at Bahia Principe luxury ill come out from October 23 to November 2, 2022. We had friends and family total of 13 people including 5 kids. The checking was really smooth. So weâve got a room with king bed and two beds for kids. And it was very close to everything we need. The room was big but outdated. beds and pillows were very comfortable though.they had robes and slippers for adults and kids. Weâve been to many other hotels, and it was the first time when weâve seen robes for kids. So my kids were super excited. So drinks beer and snacks were renewed at the fridge daily. Buffet has a good variety of food. Meet fish, seafood freshly made. For lunch we used buffet or we ate the food They cook by the pool. For dinner, we could use any of 13 restaurants. So every day we ate at different restaurant. Each of them was amazing. The service was absolutely outstanding. our favorite probably was Frutos Del Mar. we went there twice and I want to say that Gladys Sanchez (manager), Fernando, Moses, Pedro and Adrian( chef) did everything to please us. They provide excellent service, and we felt super special. Food and beverage Managers Christian and Javier Valdovinos were super nice and professional through our whole stay.they really helped us with our special dinner by the beach and they made sure everything was perfect. Actually, it was more than perfect. Weâve got even more than we expected. And that really made our stay outstanding.

What we liked: property is very well maintained, friendly staff, ease of getting from point a to point b with the golf cart transportation. What we did not like: difficulty of getting a reservation for dinner because of the full capacity.

Great resort, very clean, rooms were spacious! Beach area was nice, not the best swimming areas, as the shore is a little rocky in most areas, but they work! I am a lover of Mexican food and the food offered at the buffet was pretty darn good! The drinks seemed weak. We watched them make most of our drinks but they didnât feel very strong at all. The property is wonderfully kept! Staff was amazing, always went above and beyond! We loved our stay and will return again!
While this worked for our vacation, I wouldnât stay here again. The food was not very good. Two times the electricity shut off in our room and we had to call maintenance. We had to wait a long time for the resort shuttle service. Also-this place is not very close to Tulum and a one way taxi was about $65 USD
