They are part of the Marriott hotel, but they don’t “participate” in Marriott program for elite members. They don’t offer the standard benefits to elite members like other Marriott hotels. When I checked in, I was told that I will have 2 bottles of complimentary water a day and it turned out it’s only the first day. And they don’t give you water after. When I ask for the front desk, they just told me no. I found a cockroach in my room. The location is bad, you can’t really walk to the big shopping and food center without going through a dark area along the highway. The staff were unfriendly. Spanish seems to the default language. If you don’t speak Spanish, either the server couldn’t understand you or they treat you worse than those who speak Spanish. This was the first time I stayed at an AC hotel and it is the last time too.

All was great, an uneventful stay, except for one odd interaction. Upon checking out, I grabbed some coffee next to the mini mart and was literally followed by the front desk lady as if I were about to steal something from the mini mart. It felt odd and a bit disrespectful.

AVOID THIS HOTEL at ALL costs. We wanted to go-to Disney and universal studios so we THOUGHT this would be a good hotel to stay at. But we were sadly mistaken. Where to begin? 1. Shuttle only leaves ONCE early in the morning to Disney or Universal. Other hotels like the Drury have shuttles that leave/return multiple times of the day. 2. NO buffet. Instead, you have to pay $15 USD for a "European" style breakfast which has cold items but very few hot items. Other hotels like the Drury have a FREE daily breakfast buffet. 3. Pool is NOT heated and is located in front of a busy parking lot and busy street. Other hotels like the Drury have a nice heated pool that is behind the hotel and facing a lake. 4. The AC in the hotel room is unstable and hard to control. There is no auto function so it can get very hot or very cold. 5. Gym is very small. They don't have enough treadmills and benches since there can be many people at one time so it's hard to workout. 6. Poor customer service. One night, I simply wanted to borrow a large drinking glass and I was screamed at by the front desk staff for going behind the empty bar to find one. She said they don't have the key for the bar so they couldn't get a glass. They said the bartender did (and apparently he wasn't there). What kind of hotel doesn't have a drinking glass for guests to borrow? Overall, we felt that the Drury was much more accommodating hotel for us (even though we didn't even stay there).

Centrally located but it comes at a price...
Since the hotel is next to the freeway, it's noisy until late at night when traffic reduces (12 AM), but again around 6 AM, it gets very loud. I asked for a quiet room but they best they could offer was a higher floor, but still didn't help much. On the bright side, it is centrally located if you are planning to be in the south of Orlando. It's close to restaurants and the parks. The room was clean and we got a good service. If you can't manage the constant noise of the highway traffic bring your own earplugs.
