Property is dated, but the rooms were clean. Very convenient!

Friendly staff. Affordable

Thank goodness this is a cheap hotel! Its just worn and tired.

Perfectly adequate. Convenient to downtown area.

This place is a classic. Old-school downtown hotel of the kind I grew up staying at. Yes, it's true, the parking lot is hilariously tiny and awkward, but that's part of the experience. Really nice people at the front desk. And some of the rooms have an amazing view of the mountains. Easy walk to everything. I give it two thumbs up.

Hotel is fine, room is a bit worn out, probably time for a renovation. I arrived late at night, my impression of downtown Asheville at night is of a hellish bumscape full of drugged out zombies and lunatics (and confusing 1 way streets), but during the day I guess the bums go to sleep and it was wonderful - cool galleries, excellent restaurants.

Convenient location, tasty and varied breakfast options, room was clean and had everything we needed. Easy parking. Very affordable as well.

I have stayed at this property twice. It is conveniently located near all the places we go to Asheville to visit. Property is old and out of date, but we have dealt with it. This trip however, we were woken up by the front desk at 2am to come move cars around because someone was stuck in the parking lot. For doing so, we were told our stay would be discounted. I confirmed this twice with the hotel staff. They decided after we left to discount one night, not the entire stay. Disappointing and irritating because that is not what was communicated to us. Also, water was turned off for about an hour one of the days. Probably wont come back next year.

The showers were ice cold and the parking was terrible. I was sent to a 3rd parking lot away from hotel.

Front desk very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was nice

Room 518 is close to elevator so we heard it operating until about 2:00 am. Otherwise it was a good stay. Clean. No gluten free options for breakfast.

Nice staff! Decent hotel. Could be more affordable for the condition but overall not bad.

Fix water faucet of sink.. Machine of air conditioning/heat didn’t connecting well. I hate Dish cable due interruptions of closed captioning when the program is ending.. view of fall and service of lady that I checked were awesome. Beds are much better than before.

Very loud area at night, property needs updating - wallpaper looked like the 1980s.

Excellent service; everything worked. Spme guys hanging outside made me uneasy when I walked my dog. However except for one that asked for $, they did not bother me insistently.

Thank you for staying with us. Recently, we have made many significant investments in the property. For example, we have stocked our guest rooms with new furniture, carpet, mattresses, wallpaper and appliances. We also installed a new parking lot elevator adjacent elevator that gives our guests quick access to their rooms from the parking lot at the cost of 500,000. We have installed new RFID electronic lock on all of our guest room doors. We have also installed new heating/ ac mini split units in all our rooms at the cost of 450,000. We have installed a new roof on the main building at a cost of 250,000. We have installed fiber Internet services at the cost of 30,000. We have installed a fire sprinkler system and alarm system at the cost of 350,000. We have installed a new stairway tower at the cost of 600,000. We have also remodeled our breakfast area at the cost of 50,000. We have also replaced the lobby floor, lobby furniture, and lobby pictures. We have resurfaced and striped the parking lost at a cost of 7,000.

Thank you for staying with us and for the review. We are the only downtown hotel that provides free parking to all our guests. Other downtown hotels charge 15-25 per day for parking. Unfortunately, we cannot provide all guests with onsite parking. But we do always guarantee free parking either onsite, or in one of our overflow lots which are all a block away.
