Travel from Cleveland to Las Vegas during the summer months for the warm weather and more than 800 attractions that the city has to offer. Everything from resorts to racing, gourmet dining and entertaining live shows will have you looking forward to your trip. Before your trip begins, there a few things to consider and some preparations to make, and the trip planning tool at Orbitz.com makes this easy.
Your trip will begin at the Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport. Located 9 miles from Cleveland's city center, the airport offers flights with 43 airlines. You can use Orbitz.com to book one of these low-fare flights. More than 4,000 flights go through the airport's terminals each week.
Getting to the airport should be a part of your vacation plan as there are a few options available. Taking a taxi to the airport will cost you about $23. Public transportation offers better deals at $2.25 per ride. A shuttle can run between $15 and $45, depending on the company you choose. Using your own car is another option. Cleveland-Hopkins International offers parking at $10 a day for long-term parking in the garage, and it costs $8 a day to park in the economy lot.
Don't leave the airport without a bite to eat or something to occupy your time during the flight. Cleveland-Hopkins International offers fast food, lounge, bar and grills and cafes for the hungry and thirsty traveler. There are also newspaper stands, shoe stores, and shops for buying jewelry, clothing and souvenirs. You can buy any toiletries that you forgot to pack before boarding your plane.
Las Vegas is a desert location that people often associate with casinos and large hotels. However, most people don't realize that inside those casinos and hotels, you can find many wonderful attractions to fill a vacation. From live shows to luxurious spas and fine dining, there are so many things to do in Las Vegas. Some of the larger hotels even have botanical gardens and shopping areas.
Located in Nevada, Las Vegas has one primary airport for domestic and international flights. The McCarran International Airport is located 5 miles south of the Las Vegas city center. More than 77 airlines operate out of the airport, making more than 8,000 flights each week. Getting from the airport to your destination is easy after flying in from Cleveland. The best deal is a hotel shuttle that picks you up from the airport at no charge. Public transport is $2 for a bus ride. A taxi is a bit more expensive, costing $27 to get downtown.
Las Vegas is in a desert climate, so the weather stays warm year-round. The events and attractions are much easier to bear without a crowd. Try to go in the late spring, after spring break, or in the late summer, after Labor Day and just before Thanksgiving. At these times of year, the temperature only dips into the low 70s and heats up to the mid-80s. Late spring and early fall are also the best times to beat the desert rains, so bring sunscreen along with light-colored, lightweight clothing.
Many people don't leave the hotel because of the many attractions offered. Catch some relaxing spa treatments at The Spa at Encore or see a great show at the Collosseum at Caesars Palace. The Bellagio has a botanical garden, the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, where you can enjoy a tour for a bit of tranquility. Each of these hotels offer fine dining facilities-some owned by celebrity chefs-alongside delicious cafes and a selection of fast-food establishments.
Planning such a great trip can also be fun. Arrange for the hotel shuttles when you book your flight from Cleveland to Las Vegas on Orbitz.com. Also, look for package deals on attractions, hotels and flights to save a little extra cash for playing on the Las Vegas Strip.
