Looking for budget flights from Vancouver to Las Vegas? Orbitz.com makes it easy to find the best deals on travel, lodging and attractions in the entertainment capital of the world. Las Vegas has a big reputation for glitz, glam and gambling.
Vancouver International Airport is serviced by 48 airlines, including United, WestJet and Air Transat, and is home to over 160 shops and restaurants. Dining options run the gamut from counter-service coffee and snack shops like Starbucks to traditional sit-down establishments like the popular Monk's Grill.
Parking in the economy lots costs $21 per day or $138 per week. Long-term parking is $15.75 per day and $102 per week. These lots aren't within easy walking distance of the terminal, but free shuttles stop every 15 to 20 minutes. Curbside valet service is available for $40 per day or $220 per week.
You can reach the airport from downtown in just 26 minutes aboard the Canada Line rapid transit rail at a cost of $8.75 per person. This includes a $5 airport surcharge. You can also take a taxi from downtown for approximately $30 to $35.
Las Vegas is located in the southern tip of Nevada. From the warm air, hot sun and neon lights on the horizon, Las Vegas offers quite a change of scenery and climate for Vancouver residents. While gambling and entertainment top the list of local attractions, there are plenty of opportunities to just kick back and relax as well.
The city is home to both North Las Vegas Airport and McCarran International. The first is smaller and focused on scenic tour flights, while the second sees most of the state's commercial traffic. Serviced by 34 airlines, McCarran is a major hub for both Southwest and WestJet.
Eleven rental car companies, including Budget, Alamo and Advantage, can be found in a complex on the airport grounds, accessible by a free shuttle. The RTC city bus also has several routes that go to the airport, and a number of reputable taxi companies service each terminal. Not every cab driver accepts credit or debit payments, so make sure to ask in advance. From the airport to downtown, cab fare averages $22 to $27.
The weather in Vegas is hot and dry, with average highs in the 100s from June to August and in the high 50s during December and January. The rainiest months receive less than half an inch of precipitation. Nights are typically warm as well, making a walk on the Strip or Glitz Gulch a perfect activity during your trip.
Most travelers visit a few of the big casino hotels, like the Bellagio, regardless of where they are staying. There are dozens of shows by world-famous performers and museums for every entertainment bracket you can think of. When it comes to food, it's the small diners lining the city streets, offering slot machines and endless buffet lines, that provide some of the best eats in town.
You're likely to see excess in the southwestern city unlike anywhere else in the world. Grand musicals, circuses and magic shows, four-story fountains, dancing girls covered in feathers and diamonds, and gamblers betting millions of dollars create an atmosphere of extremes and push you to your limits. You'll leave exhausted and satisfied and ready to come back for more, and Orbitz.com can help make your trip from Vancouver to Las Vegas possible by locating the best prices on lodging and travel.
