A room on the 3rd floor facing the street must come with ear plugs or at a lower price, because the sound insulation is very poor. The traffic noise level kept me up in the evening and woke me up at 5am. Next, there was no hot water the first morning. The second morning, I found out that the drainage in the bathroom is very poor. Finally, there isn't even a glass in the room. No coffee machine, no tea kettle. Disappointing.

My room was a bit depressing. The window was facing another building entirely making the impression it was always nighttime. It was also an extremely small room to others in NYC I’ve stayed in. The hallways reminded me of being in a dorm back in college.

We saw ChristinaP. at the Gramercy Theater and it’s just steps away from Freehand hotel. It was raining cats and dogs that day so the location was perfect. 👌

The property was fine, but the problem is with Orbitz's arrangement. We reserved from Thursday to Sunday but had to remove the Saturday night portion well in advance of our arrival. The problem is that canceling the last night would have cost more because it required us to cancel the whole reservation and then rebook. This is a serious flaw because one would expect some type of refund. This discourages us from using Orbitz again.

A great hotel in a convenient spot, rooms are great, you have to realize this is an nyc hotel not a hotel in Orlando to all the people complaining about the size of rooms. Has excellent dining and entertainment options in the hotel. Great for young couples looking for a quick weekend getaway. Staff is excellent, property is showing a minor wear but overgall great. The Only other complaing is that the jackhammer was running nonstop for two days we were here, but thats NYC not on the hotel. It would have been nice for the hotel maybe to give us a warning...if they were even given a warning.

The hotel is good. Small rooms but comfortable. Mattress could be better and linens a bit softer. Bathroom is nice. At check in the agent force-charged us an additional $34 for bottles of water, wifi on what he called facility fee. Not disclosed upon reserving and paying for the room. I truly disliked the careless attitude the front desk employee had.
