We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This hotel was the perfect location for transit, for theatre visits and for sightseeing. The hotel is comfy, quiet and our room was fairly spacious. As a mother traveling with a teenage daughter I appreciated how safe it was. There was a friendly doorman and in the evenings there were staff in the lobby and the elevators. The hotel is a bit tired looking but it didn’t detract from the charm of the place. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location for a 3 night New Years Eve trip. Fantastic staff that went above and beyond. Great location. Room was great and so big. Would stay again for sure. Manager helped one of our party get the perfect photo in the beautiful lobby elevators. Head of security Mr. Baker was amazing and helped us with an amazing New Years Eve to remember forever. Appreciated both of them so much for a memorable trip.

A classic hotel in the Theatre District

A very characterful hotel with a long history, well located midway between Times Square and Central Park in the Theatre District. It has a real, large lobby with comfortable seating, excellent room service, good amenities (even if we missed an in-room coffee machine). The 1st floor cocktail lounge doubles as a breakfast and all-day restaurant, good quality food but we found the seating awkward for eating. Considering the location in the city the room was very quiet and soundproof. There is also a full-size bath tub, good to relax after a day walking through New York. Very friendly staff, attentive and prompt to attend to any need.

Overall, a great stay

We have been going to NYC for the past several years during the kids' winter break, and we like to stay in the Rockefeller Center area. This was our first time at The Michelangelo. The location was really good, only about 2 blocks from RC. We splurged and stayed in a one-bedroom suite (with 2 full bathrooms) which was a real treat. Here are my "complaints": The card keys were difficult to use and took a while to unlock; there was no use or vending machine on our floor; while there was a coffee maker and coffee pods in the room, there were no mugs for either of the 2 days we were there. I requested mugs through the hotel's text feature but never received them; the TV had no apps like YouTube. We've stayed at less expensive hotels that have YouTube; there was no parking in the hotel as indicated on the booking engine, but there was right across the street; the fridge was stocked with drinks (mostly alcohol), so there was no room to put food or drinks that we had brought or bought; few USB ports; concierge service never picked up the phone. I had to hang up and try the front desk, but the line would ring forever before anyone answered. Overall, mostly trivial matters, and we enjoyed our stay. We just expected a little more given the room and price.
