Had a great stay. We did not make any contact with anyone, assuming this is due to covid. Access code was emailed to me the morning of our stay. Shower is super small but functional.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. You are a 5 minute walk from the beach and a 5 to 10 minute walk from a lot of shops and eateries. We loved that you park right next to your rooms and the motel is all single story. The pool and grilling areas looked really nice (we went in april so pool wasnt open) I will say if you need constant attention this is not the place for you. The office is only open during the day with a number to call for emergencies at night. Housekeeping only cleans the rooms when you check out but will get you anything you need while they are there. It is pet friendly and those who brought pets cleaned up after them and we didnt hear any barking at night. The rooms are big and have a keurig, a microwave and toaster oven, and a mini fridge. Also a table and 2 chairs. We had a great time and the price I booked for 2 rooms was great. We would stay there again with no hesitation.

Cars are parked right in front of your room, so you may hear car locking sounds esp if yr neighbors start early in the day but otherwise it seems good. Very proximal to the beach access.
The property was tastefully remodeled and looked very nice. However, the door to the room had a gap in the door jam and flies, spiders and gnats frequently came in the room. These were a nuisance.
Newly remodeled and great location to Hatteras, Roanoke, Kill Devil Hill, and public beach access.
Nice, clean and fun. Very close to the beach. We would come back.
There was hair on the pillows and bedding. There was a hair tie left on the floor when you first walk into the room. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were supper soft. Overall will not stay here again and was very disappointed.
Old fashioned motel with new furnishings. Across the road from the beach! Great pool and grilling area. Beds were a little too firm for me.
The hotel was perfect on the inside! Updated fixtures made it feel like home. I loved that you never had to “check in or check out”. A key code to the door was simply texted to you! The only reason this doesn’t rate a five is there was no hot water, so I couldn’t take a shower and the beds were very hard and uncomfortable.
Jennette's Pier is a short stroll from Tar Heel Motel, and other popular attractions like Nags Head Golf Links are within a couple of miles (3 km). Each of the 32 rooms at this motel includes a furnished patio, a refrigerator, and a microwave.
