Very good price. No staff on premises. Have to book on line. Then call an 800 number to get a room assignment and entry code. Place was bare, but adequate. Reasonably clean, but I did find one roach. For a cheap place, I have no complaints
The place could use a little cleaning on the outside on the back upper decks. It had quite a few old bird droppings and old bee nests. Other than that, It was very clean in the rooms. Love the view front and back of the hotel. It has a little dock and place to go out on a paddle board or kayak easily. Excellent distances from Nags Head area and Manteo and easy to get to.
We didn’t stay cause we could not get into the room . The codes didn’t work plus there was yellow rope in the back, painting going on in the office, and most of all , no one was there. What kind of establishment has no clerks? Shut ir down if you don’t have enough help, or explain.
It was very quiet, and easy to get through. It had limited parking, but was close to property. Property is old and needs some TLC. The balcony needed pressure washing, lots of old bird droppings and spider webs, etc. Beautiful water view and close to many restaurants. It was a clean room, but I feel could have been cleaner. The last night I was there, WiFi and TV didn’t work. Overall, I give it an OK rating.
Definitely good for a short stay. Had a wedding to go to at the Oasis which is 3x the price. Easy 3 minute walk from Fin&Feather. I did ask for a water front room but did not get that, got room 10... the corner room. It was okay bc we were barely in it. It was overall clean..... though they should probably clean the walls once in a while... the smeared dead bugs weren’t that pleasant. But the location is convenient and being able to sit out back and fish or just watched the water is nice
It was so dirty. I took pictures of the sand and cobwebs. For the price of this place ($160) for this crappy hotel. I've stayed in way better places for less. It was also very smelly in the room and the grassy area next to the hotel was FULL of dog poop. Disgusting. Looks like it never has been clean. Do not stay here. Its super gross.
Location is nice. The unit I stayed in lacked general maintenance. The bathroom sink was very slow to drain and the ceiling fan had a bad wobble to it. Otherwise, the unit is very basic and not what I would consider a “resort”.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. The beds were so hard and cheap. Honestly the worse I have ever slept in. The beds barely had a blanket on them. So thin for a quilt. The ceiling had pieces broken and hanging down. The bathrooms didn’t have hand towels. The room had the worst musty smell. Great location just needs a lot of updating/upgrading.
It is older property in a good location. We enjoyed our stay because our dog was allowed with a hefty charge of $50, and it was bigger than we expected. The moldy smell is present in the building but you have to consider its coastal waterfront location.

We were very pleased with the location of the hotel and the room was super cute. It was perfect for a little family vacation. It was very quiet and away from the big crowds. But, I was a little disappointed that there was no housekeeping the entire stay and we were reusing the same towels and my feet turned black from the unclean floors, so I just kept socks on while we were in the room. But overall we were very happy with the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay in the future.
Found hair on bathroom floor and tub. Mattress and pillows were terrible. My wife slept on top of a beach towel that she put on the comforter.
The room reeked. In humid environments and old building you expect a little bit of odor, but this was different. The windows don't open, so it couldn't even be aired out. I contacted the staff after a terrible night of sleep requesting to be moved. They said they would send maintenance over and get back to me. Eventually they sent an email instead of calling, saying the problem had been taken care of. Um, no, it wasn't any different. We bought a bottle of Febreze to try to get thru our last night there. All of our clothes had to be sprayed to even be able to attend the wedding we were there for. It was unbelievable. Do not stay here, or any property managed by Kees Vacations.
Very nice at first glance. It did, however, smell of urine. Loved that there was two bathrooms.There was hair in one bathroom in tub and above it on the wall that want ours. Liked it had soap dispensers in shower. View was nice. The stairs in back and front were uneven so always thought was going to fall. My dog did once. No staff ever on site. You don't check in or out. But all in all did stay here again. May bring some scented spray though.
2 bedroom was big enough. A good jumping off point for Hatteras or Nags head. The mildew wet smell was bad. Carpet pro all the needs to be tile or something cleanable. No staff there.
