Would gladly rent again
Like many rental properties, the pots and pans were a bit dirty on arrival, but otherwise it was totally clean and a great stay! Quiet neighborhood and a really cool 3 story, well-appointed house. Plenty of games to stay busy when on site too. FYI-nothing to do with the rental other than location, but none of the fire roads or trails in the immediate area are dirt bike friendly, so we had to load and drive a bit to ride. We'll be back, but likely bring the mtb next time.

Great stay
As described! The spa was heated and ready for us, which was a plus. The kids will spend hours playing air hockey, but they do need to get new pucks as the one they have is widdled away.

Good location
For a visit in the transition from summer sports to winter sports, we found the house well located. It was too cool to use the canoe and visit the lake, but the hiking was magnificent, with some trails within walking distance and Donner Summit a very short drive away. We enjoyed the ping pong table. The hot tub cover is very heavy.

No gas
We arrived late, around 10pm, to find out the house was 35 degrees F inside, there was no hot water, and the gas stove and oven didn’t work. Vacasa, who managed the trip, after multiple, multiple phone calls sent someone out 12 hours later at 10am, who checked the propane tank for the house and told us it was empty as the house no longer had a contract for propane. At first, they offered us a new place (without a hot tub) and no refund, but, after we fully explained the situation, they promised us a full refund and a 20% discount on a future trip. We’ve received the email for the future trip discount and are waiting on the full refund. The house was clean and seemed like it would’ve been wonderful IF basic utilities were taken care of.

Good, but overpriced
Hi, This place is as advertised. It's quite nice. However, it's still considerably more expensive than many nearby and comparable places. I don't think it's worth the extra money.

Fine but a bit dated
We’re used to staying at Tahoe Donner, so maybe we’re spoiled, but this property was more dated than it seemed from pics and description. There were no extra towels in kitchen, and because the housecleaning crew left towels in dryer we had to get towels for us from other bathrooms. And there were so many ashes in the stove it was hard to get a fire going. Some dishes felt greasy (previous tenants I guess) and a lot of mugs were chipped. All that said, it was fine for a couple nights and we loved being so close to Royal Gorge.

No gas: no heat (it was below freezing outside), no hot water, no oven or stove
The house is nice. The layout is nice. The floors are very dirty and there is a lot of dog hair in the rug and human hair on pillows. Bowls and glasses and silverware have bits of food on them. Kitchen cupboard is broken with the door tucked on the floor next to the refrigerator. We rented for a weekend; on Saturday afternoon, when we returned from skiing, the house smelled like gas. I called Vacasa and was told there is nothing they could do about it and I should call 911. I called 911. The fire department told us to get out of the house. By then, it was nighttime and below freezing. When the firemen arrived (two firemen and the chief in two vehicles, they told us to get away from the blast area. They inspected everything (they were great) and found that the propane gas tank was empty. We had no heat, no hot water, no stove or oven. No firewood (I had asked on Friday night and was told that firewood was not provided by Vacasa). The staff was overwhelmed and unable to help and essentially expected me to understand that there was nothing she could do. She explained to me that they own 50 properties and two people cannot be expected to check them all to make sure that there is propane. She complained that there is a shortage of staff, just like all over the country. The fire chief called the manager to explain to her the circumstances. She did not show any sense of concern or accountability that we had no hot water, no heat, no oven or stove. Awful.

Nice place, would come again.
Nice place, but the Hot Tub was out of order. The management though was very easy to deal with and made everything right. I think of course our family would have preferred a working hot tub, but the management made the best they could out of the situation. I'm sure it will be fixed promptly and would have no problem renting again from them. Other than that, great location, great house and great time.

Great house
So nice to have a great house that's dog friendly with a hot tub! The hot tub control panel was not functioning, (could not turn on jets or lights, and it was not hot enough), so I emailed the property manager- heard back the next day they would send someone to fix it. We left before it was fixed. Otherwise, really appreciated the accommodations and the fact the owners left basics (olive oil, spices), etc. We will be back. thank you!

Great place to stay
We rented the house for 7 adults for a 50th birthday weekend. The house has a great location, easy walk to Lake Serena and easy drive to Donner Lake or Truckee. Lake Serena is not a swimming lake, but you can boat/paddle board if you have one (no rentals). The house has a canoe you can use! We drove to Donner Lake to rent paddle boards (you can also rent other boat craft there). Lots of fun. The hot tub was fantastic after the drive up, or after a day at the lake. Very enjoyable. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The bunk beds were a little small for tall adults (had to sleep sideways on the double and the short person got the top bunk), but doable. Kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed (could have used a second cutting board though, or maybe we just didn't find it). The house has an air hockey table downstairs and a ping pong in the garage for more entertainment. We had a great time, and check-in and check-out was easy.

Soda Springs Beauty
This house was everything it was advertised to be! He loved exploring the soda Springs area and Donner Lake. We had a couple of minor problems not knowing how to work the hot tub and the TVs and when I called the phone number they were extremely helpful and nice! Great customer service! The only thing that we had a minor problem with were that there are A lot of stairs as it is a tri level. We are elderly so there’s something that I need to be aware of next time I rent. But we managed and it was all worth it! The hot tub and the deck were absolutely beautiful and worth the price. Definitely will be back next year!
