We really enjoyed staying here. The Staff is great. The view is amazing. It is a little run down, but they are working on it. The restaurant/bar is nice. Breakfast is sit-down and severed. We will stay again.
Staff is wonderful. Restaurant bar was a great place to relax with a drink and enjoy the beautiful view. Food was good. Property is dated. Shower tile grout did not look clean. Lots of steep steps and a bit treacherous after it had rained. An okay one night stay but i believe it was too expensive for what we got and for the price, we wouldn't stay here again. Also, we didn't know about a $20 resort fee until check-in. If this was state on Orbitz, we missed it.
We had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying the pool, food and drinks at Hotel Mafolie. The staff was was great from check-in, at the bar and at dinner. And you can’t beat the delicious breakfast made-to-order. We will be back.
If you want to avoid the resorts and like a unique place to stay away from the crowds, this is it. Mafolie is fairly centrally located on St Thomas so it's an easy drive to all locations, not that anything is more than 20-30mins away. It's a mountainside hotel so lots of hills and stairs but I he views are spectacular. We stayed in one of the lower "bungalows" in the property overlooking a main road so it can get noisy but the privacy and views made it a good tradeoff. Restaurant has great food and the made-to-order breakfast menu included in our stay was well worth it. Definitely recommend for those that want a place to stay and have convenience to get out and explore.

In general ok for price paid. They have a restaurant but service is awful. Was seated and given a glass of water, waited an hour and a half for someone to take my order and no one came so I left.
We had an amazing experience at The Mafolie Hotel! The new owner was very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs and requests.The entire staff was very professional and available for any questions and suggestions that we had. The facility was clean and tidy at all times. The view was breathtaking and the tropical landscaping was lush. The fabulous food for breakfast and dinner was prepared perfectly and always tasted delicious! We would most definitely recommend this hotel for travelers to St. Thomas!!!!❤️
AMAZING view, super friendly staff, really loved the included breakfast, also fairly central so it was easy to take a taxi to any of the beaches or down town. Wish they would upgrade the shower heads and/or fix the water to the showers, it was pretty awful. They should also remove the broken lounge chairs at the pool (nobody is going to use them anyway and they make the place look run down).
This place is cute & quaint, very old building. The staff is wonderful, the restaurant & servers are great! The VIEWS ARE AMAZING!!! Now, the problem I had is the cleanliness. I woke up early one morning to shower, and discovered a cockroach INSIDE my suitcase. Over my stay, I discovered a total of 3 cockroaches. The grout in between the tiles on the balcony is molding and filthy. The bed was covered in long white hairs (like old lady hair), inside and outside the covers. Hair stuck to the bottom of the dresser. When I found the roach in my suitcase, I immediately killed it and took it to the front counter. They did not compensate me in any way, they told me they would spray down the room when I left for a few hours. So it was clean when I came back and we didn’t have anymore roaches, With that said, It was alright I guess but I wouldn’t recommend it to any friends or family.
The property needs some updating… the room I was put in wasn’t the cleanest and had an odor that I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from, however it is an amazing place to stay while in the USVI. The views are absolutely amazing and it’s super peaceful. Elizabeth is amazing and helps with information and things to do on your stay.
