The hotel is really good the main issue I had was the food and staff I got there on day one of a 5 day vacation and I couldn’t get a reservation at the hibachi said it was fully booked so didn’t even get to try it then in the restaurants that I did visit the service took too long and mind you I know it was busy but at least come by and refill the drinks or something other the that it was a good stay

Mediocre at best. The lack of responsiveness from staff is appalling. We had several complaints in both parties that booked. Our room was outdated. Shower has no door so if anyone walks in the room you’ll be seen naked. Mini fridge didn’t cool, we were told to just stick it in a bucket with ice. The safe, television, remote and radio did not work. The whole locking component on the inside of the door fell off our door and we got locked in our own room. The maintenance gentleman laughed the issue off and told us “just don’t use the safety lock, nobody can get in unless it’s a supervisor” which is a lie because the next day house keeping came into our room. Maintenance tech also disclosed that someone else had just gotten locked in their room 30 minutes prior to us. When I asked for a do not disturb sign, they told me there were no more. Food was less than edible. At the restaurants that require reservations, the staff is dismissive and have attitude. On several occasions we even got laughed at when we asked questions. The meat options are labeled as beef tenderloins, sirloin or fillet mignon and you’re given the same kind of “steak” for all those options. None of the restaurants have functioning AC. At the hibachi restaurant, the chefs were profusely sweating all over the cook top. The drinks are terrible quality.The beach is perfect because their is a reef that blocked out the waves. The kids water parks were great. The buffet lacked options and quality of food was trash.

Ir has everything you could think of available. Food, entertaiment, shopping, beach, pools, great comfy beds, and on and on. Even a escape room.

Sewage systems in some rooms leave a lot to be desired. Air conditioning and ventilation in buffet dinning areas are terrible. Food has improved a lot from two years ago. Pools have excellent water quality, among the best in the Caribbean. Watersports and activities is the main reason we keep going back.

I had read ratings and heard from friends that the resort was 4.5-5 star and I expected a lot. I was disappointed. There were minor irritants like the safe in the room that didn't work, the in-room coffee machine that broke the second day but I found that the food in the restaurants was disappointing. The food in the buffet restaurant was very good by comparison. The biggest failure in my mind was golf. We played a round of "free" golf which cost $80 per person for the cart and $45 for rental clubs (USD). There were a total of 12 clubs: 1 driver, 2, 3-woods, 8 irons (3 different models of Calloway irons) and a putter. And they were filthy. I wouldn't have bought them for $45.00. I have vacationed at Moon Palace in Cancun and unfortunately, when comparing the two, Barcelo Bavaro doesn't come close. The fact that I was with my kids and grandkids made it memorable but, as I said, I expected more.

The property is very large. We could not get any reservations to eat. The cleaning lady stole items from our room. Property is clean though. Food was average at best.
