Per our reservation details, we were going to be charged a $30 'resort' fee. What I didn't expect, and what was not detailed on the hotels.com reservation page, was a $35 parking fee!! This is in addition to the 'resort' fee!!! I am not sure what the 'resort' fee covers since there is just a small pool and jacuzzi with a one fire pit table located at the center of the hotel.
I also booked a King room with balcony...when we arrived our room was the double Queen with balcony. No mention of the change at our check-in. When I went to the front desk to inquire about the mistake, the clerk told me there was a booking issue with the site I used and they didn't have the room I reserved. Considering I made the reservations three weeks in advance, it seems odd the room I booked wasn't available.
We were allowed to change our room to a King room without a balcony. Unfortunately, this meant we faced PCH and the room was located next to their ice container and foot of their stairs. So we got all the foot traffic going to the second floor and the guests refilling their ice needs.
The room itself was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. No complaints there...was just bummed we could not enjoy opening our blinds because of the room location and the amount of people walking by.
Overall, a nice place to stay, if it weren't for the ridiculous and unexpected parking fee. Just another way to make extra money for a service that should be provided in the cost of the hotel room/resort fee
