The airport is one of the United States' busiest, serving over 21 million passengers every year.
Twenty-five airlines offer flights from Honolulu, including American, United, Delta, and Frontier Airlines. Hawaiian Airlines offers daily nonstop service to Las Vegas on three flights.
Honolulu International Airport has five parking lots. Long-term parking is available in the economy lot at a rate of $12 per day, with a minimum charge of $24. SpeediShuttle is an affordable option if you don't want to leave your car at the airport. The shuttle offers door-to-door transportation from your home. Round-trip transportation is available from Honolulu Harbor for $26.79. Dozens of taxis, shuttles, and limousine services also provide service to Honolulu International Airport. Upon checking in at the airport, you can visit the food court located in the terminal and grab something to eat on your way to the gate.
Arriving in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is one of the top travel destinations in the world. Besides gambling, the city is home to some of the best shows, shopping, and fine dining. Flights into Las Vegas land at McCarran International Airport, just blocks east of Las Vegas Boulevard and the lights of the casinos. The airport welcomes flights on 32 different airlines from around the world. If you've rented a car, look for the blue and white McCarran rental car shuttles outside of the baggage claim for transportation to the rental center. Four group shuttle services provide transportation to Las Vegas hotels and resorts. More than a dozen taxi and limousine companies can also pick you up outside the terminal when you arrive.
The weather in Las Vegas is typically mild in the winter, with temperatures ranging between lows in the upper 30s and highs in the upper 50s. Pack multiple layers for travel in December and January. Summer in the city can be extremely hot, with July temperatures reaching an average of 104°F. Don't forget to bring plenty of sunscreen if you're visiting in the months of June through August. The months of February through April are a perfect time to visit, with average temperatures in the 60s to upper 70s and great off-season rates at hotels.
There is never a shortage of things to do in Las Vegas. With over 1,700 gambling licenses in place, your only decision is in which casino to try your luck. Some of the most popular casino-resorts are the MGM Grand, the Bellagio, and Circus-Circus. In addition to slot machines, card games, and other games of chance, most of these casinos also offer exciting shows, gourmet restaurants, thrill rides, and wedding chapels for the truly adventurous. Shoppers will want to visit Crystals at City Center, the Forum Shops at Caesar, and the Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood. Visit old Las Vegas on Fremont Street to end your day. The musical light show that covers the street canopy-style is out-of-this-world entertainment.
