Cozy Waterfront Home! 2BR/2BA Large covered deck*fishing dock*floating boat dock

WiFi internet available! Family friendly and perfect for Fishing & Boating - 4 miles from Holden Beach by car and about 3 miles by boat. This recently renovated house was originally a shrimp house for local fisherman to sale and process their catch. It's now a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with a large living/dining/kitchen area. Because of the history of the shrimp house this home is one of the only homes that actually sits on the bank of the Lockwood Folly River. Spacious covered back deck over the water with a uncovered dock on the front that is perfect for fishing. There is also a connected floating dock for your use. Please note that property has 3 additional docks and a boat lift but are NOT part of the VRBO. The Fish House is centrally located between historic Wilmington, NC and exciting Myrtle Beach, SC.

Sleeps 6 with one queen bed in the master bedroom (which overlooks the river), one queen bed and twin bunk beds in the second bedroom. It has a large farm style dining table with additional seating at a large central bar. Windows line the living room wall so that you can enjoy the bird watching, dolphin swimming, and sunrises all from the comfort of the couch!

Bring your fishing pole or your boat as the Fish House is located on the Lockwood Folly River about a mile and a half from the Inter Coastal Waterway. The Lockwood Folly Inlet is situated between Oak Island and Holden Beach and has direct access to the Atlantic Ocean! The Fish House has a large parking area if you do bring a boat and is only a half of a mile from a free public boat ramp. There is also a fish cleaning station and outdoor shower right off the floating boat dock!

Please be aware that there are three piers down from the floating dock that are used by the owners of the property, they can be seen in the pictures. These three piers and boat lift are private and are not part of the VRBO. We ask that all guests limit their usage to the one floating dock. The owners occasionally park on the far edge of the lot away from the house and access their boat by the steps in the side yard. This is far enough away from the house that it should not be disruptive. There are also two cameras on this property for security measures, one on the parking lot and one on the piers.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a private yard, and a coffee maker.

My relax & unwind place!
This is my favorite place to get away & truly relax! The view from the deck is so calming & great for bird watching. The freshest seafood is less than a mile away. Eating oysters on the huge deck is the perfect set up. We’ve been there twice this year. Highly recommend!

Adorable house, great location!
This adorable house was perfect for our family vacation. My husband and teenage son loved the large porch on the river. I’m pretty sure they fished nonstop. We also took our boat and had plenty of room to keep it in the water at the house our whole trip. The location is perfect. Just a short boat ride out to the ICW. The house was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfy and the check in process was super easy. We will definitely be back. Thanks for sharing this house with us.

This house was an excellent choice for this older couple. Easy access to the deck which is very spacious. The house has everything you need for cooking and was very clean. Just the two of us but easily will accommodate 6 people. We would stay here again. The host was awesome with helping us navigate the trip with all the road closures due to flooding.

PERFECT GETAWAY
We stayed at the Fishhouse for the first time in October 2017. Since then, we have stayed many times! We absolutely love everything about this home. It is always so clean and comfortable. The back deck is our favorite place to be. We have caught so many fish off of it. We love watching the sunrise in the mornings while having coffee. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need to cook and enjoy meals. We especially loved the new shelf/cabinets in the bathrooms this time. We had never been to Varnamtown before our first visit to The Fishhouse. We feel in love with the area! We loved it so much that we moved from western NC to Varnamtown in 2019. Even though we live 2 miles from The Fishhouse, we still keep coming back!!!!! We love fishing off of that deck and we are addicted to this place!

Hidden Gem!
What an amazing, perfectly coastal North Carolina experience. We are somewhat local (Wilmington) and needed a comfortable, relaxing place for our teen boys to fish and celebrate heading back to school. The house is even better than it looks online- the perfect fishing cottage. Beautiful inlet views, extremely peaceful and had everything we needed. Our boys walked down to the local seafood and bait shop, fished nonstop, and hung on the spacious deck the entire weekend. We rented a pontoon for a few hours, docked it right at the house, and toured the beautiful waterways. As a larger family, we do VRBO pretty much everywhere- and this hidden gem is a unanimous top 10 for us! Host was extremely responsive and thoughtful. Location is just a few seconds away from everything you need- but still feels like you’re alone in the country coastal region. Highly recommend!!

This property is conveniently located with the perfect fishing access right off the back porch. Just open your eyes, crawl out of bed, stumble to the deck, and cast your line as you enjoy the sunrise. It’s beautiful. The only thing missing was a crab pot.

I love this place! Have stayed here twice in 6 months & will be back again. It is so peaceful to wake up to the sunrise coming up over the marsh & listening to the birds. The no wake zone makes it enjoyable to see & wave at the boaters. The large covered deck is wonderful. We spent the majority of the time sitting in the rocking chairs looking at the water. So close to fresh seafood. This is my go-to place!
