The Barceló experience was amazing! We were greeted by amazingly helpful and friendly staff. We were able to arrange pickup and tours with the hotel in advance and the room and service was amazing!! The best bartenders in the world!

They have a good buffet. The variety is there and the food is flavorful. The morning egg lady does good. There was a group of 12 that arrived and 9 got sick, they couldn't pin down what caused it. We ate about everything and were fine. The biggest weakness of this facility is the lack customer service the employees have toward guests. The buffet has all these young girls and none of them understand service. One will walk up to the table and ask if you want a refill on your juice then walk away and a few minutes later bring it. She won't ask anyone else if they wanted a refill, just stuff like that, I suspect they are all beginners. After the food incident, the service got better too, odd. The front desk almost had us signed in to someone else's rooms, the last names were mixed up. The Restaurant reservations lady is downright rude. No idea why the buffet is closed from 11:30 to 1:00pm, the time when most canadians and americans want lunch. The Steak restaurant was fatty meat. The Capri Italian was very good. The pool activities were plentiful. They play Bingo everyday we had no idea what some numbers were that he called. Pool service was good. You can tell the managers by their dress attire, almost all of them walk around with no expression on their face, not smiling and and never asking guests how everything is... The view is refreshing to look out from the resort and see the mountains rather than other hotels like downtown. Would I stay here again, No.

Nice property with spectacular views. Ample pool areas. Room service is very slow at times and is so the service at the snack bar for lunch. Translation issues as well, several times our food and drink orders were wrong. Still worth the price, may just need to adjust expectations!

Very nice relaxing stay

My husband and I book this place for a little couple getaway. Place is in a beautiful spot. Amazing views. Some parts of resort do show some wear and tear but with the climate it’s expected. Pools were great. Pool side service was fantastic. Loved having an adults pool only. The pool chairs fill up fast so get one early but we never really had a hard time getting some but just not prime spots unless you get there early. Food was decent but for the amount of food they have to put out it was good. Wish there was more entertainment things to do. Dance club, piano bar or something. They did have nightly shows that we went to a couple and they were fun. Bed, sheets, pillows were awesome. I slept so good the whole 6 days. Shower towels were nice and big which is always a plus. Spa was beautiful. Beach area is a little small but pools were big enough. There are iguanas that chill around the pool which was neat to see. There is little restaurants along the beach and we had the best ceviche ever there. We would stay here again if the options is there.

We loved our stay at Barceló , staff was nice and helpful . My only complain is the reservation for restaurants are very limited but other than that Buffett was good with different themes every night . Good location .

We stayed at the Barcelo for 7 days in November. The hotel is located 45 minutes from the airport and the grounds around the hotel are very nice. The pools, restaurants, bars, shops are all very nice. The rooms are very spacious however the cleanliness / condition is somewhat lacking. It is also a very loud resort, music is going from 9am to 1am and the rooms aren’t well insulated so if you’re a light sleeper bring some ear plugs. We would say the food is average. The Italian restaurant was pretty good but everything else was okay. Service and staff are great and always looking to help. We had an issues with one of our rooms and they upgraded us immediately. Overall it was a good accommodation as the price we secured the hotel at was really good.

The property is nice. Pool areas are laid out well and beach access is great. Food at the buffet is good, restaurants are very good. Most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The tv in our room had terrible reception and the phone stopped working (which was inconvenient because when we went to the desk to ask for water to be delivered to our room we were told that we had to call for it. Twice we were told this. Good customer service would have had them deliver the water based on our verbal request, not tell us to go back to our room and call). Also, it is an all inclusive but for our 7 night stay we were given 3 coupons for the restaurants. We had to stand in line every morning at the concierge desk to make reservations for the restaurants. Once the coupons were gone, your option is the buffet.
