The stay was good for a weekend. Unfortunately, the air-conditioning wasn’t working (it felt stuffy while there). In any event, the hotel is very beautiful and centrally located. Staff was helpful. I’d recommend staying here for sure.

I wouldn’t rate it 5 star. They stored our luggage on early arrival, but didn’t have it the room when we came back. Minor I know but 4-5 star do that. Don’t pay for the breakfast, potatoes that came from McDonald’s, beans out of a can. So many good breakfast spots really close by.

The hotel is no better than an average 3 star. Breakfast was a disaster. Staff didn’t understand our order. Several mistakes were made and we were overcharged by a significant amount. The buffer was of poor quality. The Morse Bar is too small for a hotel this size. The decor is what would expect to find in a 1979s pub with rooms. The rooms are old, poorly ventilated, the air con doesn’t work properly and not properly noise proofed. Overall the hotel was poor value for money and needs an urgent overhaul. There should be a premier restaurant; a bigger bar; modernised bedrooms and decor generally; staff who are better trained.

Pleasant stay at historic Randolph Hotel in Oxford
A wonderful stay at the Randolph in Oxford. Pleasant and efficient staff. Comfortable, lovely room, great location convenient to the bus station at Gloucester Green and the Magdalen stop, plus main sights like Sheldonian Theater, Radcliff Camera, etc. Hotel is just across from the Martyr Memorial too.Also short walk to Christ Church College & Cathedral. Enjoyed the hotel's connection with the Morse TV series. Only negative was the fire alarm activated by some Rolls Royces in the hotel garage (fancy cars in for the Salon Prive auto show at Blenheim Palace), but hotel handled the situation quickly. Breakfast buffet in the pleasant Alice Restaurant at the hotel was delicious. Would highly recommend the Randolph.

This hotel is optimally located, near the High Street and several of the more famous colleges. The rather small bar is warmly decorated and feels cozy, as well as boasting the frequent patronage of the author of the Inspector Morse mysteries.
