Valet/Luggage Carriers = Great, the Front Desk not

The Bell hops and the valet people were so kind and helped us several time. Such great attitudes and smiles. So, my husband who is on crutches went down early one morning and put the do not disturb sign up so I could sleep in for a bit. At aproximately 9:00 am I took the sign down and left the room. My brother-in-law shared that you had to request your room to be cleaned and bed remade so David called the front desk to ask that our room be cleaned. The desk person said no problem I'll take care of it. We came back to the room later that afternoon and it was still unmade. David called again and got the same message. We had a full day of Engagement party events to attend so we got back around 9 pm and of course our room was still unmade. I went down to the front desk and the front desk person went into the managers office and came back to tell me that the manager said I had a do not distrub on my door. The manager did not try to make it better, did not come out to talk to me and was basically uninterested. So the front desk person a woman I think said she would find someone to come make the bed and bring towels. I said I would take towels up as my husband was exhausted and needed to take his medications. About 30 or so minutes later a young woman came to the door but I had already made the bed and taken care of the trash and put the dirty towels out. This was supposed to be a treat to stay on the Plaza. It turned out not to be.

We always enjoy staying at this hotel. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and clean. The staff are very helpful and willing to address any issues no matter how small. The staff at breakfast were friendly, fast, and happy to accommodate our requests. Would recommend this hotel for a stay in Kansas City to all.

Bring your night cap-

InKC for the KC Opera! Returned to a freezing room,unable to adjust the air thermostat,called the front desk they offered the adjoining room on the same system which also only increased fan speed and did not warm the room.received blankets and we made it through the night.

Check in was quick and efficient. Staff is very friendly and professional. Room was very nice-nightstand good size to hold all technology; very clean; beds/ comforters very good. Shower was exception as shower spray was excellent, could take shower and not get towels wet and had traction on the bottom of the tub which is excellent for ages to prevent falls. The make up mirror would not hold its position but very nice accommodations.
