McGhee Tyson Airport is located on Alcoa Highway, approximately twelve miles from downtown Knoxville. Car rental services, taxi services, and buses are available for convenient transportation to the airport, or you can drive yourself and park in one of the convenient short- or long-term parking areas, where parking fees range from $8 to $18 per day. Once inside the terminal, you can grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks or a quick snack from the food court while you wait to board your plane.
You’ll be arriving at the Myrtle Beach International Airport, located approximately six miles from the boardwalk. If you are planning to use shuttle services to reach your hotel, you will need to arrange the service ahead of time. Taxi services are available without prior arrangement but can be quite expensive, or you can rent a car from one of the nine car rental agencies located on the ground floor of the terminal. While visiting Myrtle Beach, be sure to visit the 1.2-mile oceanfront boardwalk and take a ride on the SkyWheel, one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the country. When you need a break from the beach, you can shop in one of the many outlet malls, visit Ripley’s Aquarium, or have some fun at the Myrtle Beach Pavillion Amusement Park. During the summer months, temperatures at Myrtle Beach average in the high 80s, dropping to the mid-50s during the winter months, and ranging between the 60s and 70s for the rest of the year. July and August are considered the busy season, so be prepared for crowds if visiting during those months.
