Established in 1914 as a railroad construction headquarters, Anchorage has evolved into a vibrant city against a stunning, mountainous backdrop. During your stay, you can take a train at the Alaska Railroad Depot and enjoy a unique way to experience the region's gorgeous wildlife and landscape. The Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center displays well-curated exhibits featuring the area's history and the Native Americans' way of life.
