Two things about this room were issues we have never encountered in a hotel room, and they significantly disrupted our sleep. First, there was no blackout curtain above the AC unit, so the room had an orange light throughout the night from the outside streetlights. Secondly, both of the queen beds squeaked on their frames when we moved. This kept two out of the three of us awake many times -- our 18 year old slept right through it, not unsurprisingly. There were only two bath towels in a room with two queen beds -- there should have been two more available in the room. It's a shame because the hotel itself was quite nice, the room was very clean and quiet, the decor was great, and the area also very good. We booked this for a visit to American University and it was convenient for that location, and Georgetown was even closer.
Front desk was not helpful when I needed a phone charger. ALL BAR & restaurant personnel were fantastic!
They did not have keys available to the rooms as there key card machine was broken , so each time you want to go to and from your room you have to be escorted by an employee to get in your room and they didn't have enough people working to do this. You think they would offer something complimentary because of this inconvenience but they did not.
This property has it all! The restaurant & bar are very welcoming and reasonably priced. The hotel staff is professional and hospitable! I would love to stay at this place every time I visit DC! Loved it
This was my second time at this hotel. The location is great as it is the only hotel in the Tenleytown area. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated and there is a great little whiskey bar/restaurant adjacent to the lobby. The bathrooms however are small and need updating. Also the A/C turns off by itself in the middle of the night. It was VERY warm and we had to keep getting up to turn it back on. We had a communication problem with parking. Our vehicle would not clear the roof of the parking garage so they told us to park down the street. We parked in the wrong lot and our car was locked in. The hotel resolved it by redirecting us where to park but it was not very convenient parking. Other than that, I highly recommend for a relaxing stay.
Good service, convenient location
Location was very good.
Much better than I expected
Loved our stay there
It was a great location
Rude front desk
A great hotel in a nice area. I especially loved how nice the hotel smelled when you walked in. Hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable although there was a little bit of street noise during the night however, our room faced the main street. My only complaint was they did not have coffee in the lobby. You had to go to the restaurant and it was four dollars for a cup of American coffee. Other than that I highly recommend.
Likes: Location Not so great: Room was not ready when I arrived, the menus in the room had not been updated for pricing, desk staff were not available throughout the day/evening, comforter had lipstick stains (NOT MINE!), television channels were not all available
The rooms, hallways, and lobby areas were very well kept. Minimal parking area, although I do understand it was in the middle of Washington.
