The rooms are very modern, and apparently the hotel is known for being haunted! I can see how people think that...I had a great time at the bar when a local band was performing. Surrounding area is lovely, hoping this place can someday be fully restored to its historic glory. In the meantime, good spot for a drive through the Santa Cruz mountains.
I adore the magic, rich history and location of the Brookdale Lodge. I was slightly disappointed that the Bar and Grill was not open as I stayed during the week, but it is a lively and fun space on the weekends. Spacious rooms with private entrance and my favorite…the private outdoor porch facing the magnificent redwoods with the sounds of the river close by.
A unique property with an interesting history. My friends and I loved our big rooms with a king bed and balcony. We’d like to come back when the rest of the property is restored and we can check out the haunted areas.
