I absolutely loved this property! I did not realize that the propety was not located within a close walking distance to the beach (40-45 min walk) however, there is a shuttle that will take you to the beach. To be honest, i actually enjoyed the pool at the hotel more than going to the beach. The rooftop pool is heated was very relaxing. There is a bar and they even had a dj on Saturday night. The staff was so friendly, professional and very accommodating. The property is beautiful and within walking distance to all of the local shops and restaurants. I would definitely come back.

Hotel Effie is an exquisite property with the most accommodating staff!! I chose this property based on its amenities and location to celebrate my Golden birthday. From management to valet, everyone was exceptionally pleasant and professional. The front office manager, Jo Brown and desk clerk, Bogi were the best! They went over and beyond to ensure my stay exceeded my expectations! The beautiful, luxurious queen suite with private balcony provided a tranquil space and breathtaking view, while the rooftop pool and lounge with full bar allowed for relaxation, fun in the sun and nightlife vibes. The hotel also has a private beach with shuttle service, and is literally a 2-min walk to The Village of Baytowne Wharf, which offers eateries, shops and activities for the entire family. Time didn't allow for a spa experience, but I will certainly schedule an appointment on my next visit.

Everything on site closes at 9 -10pm. We arrived late and there was nothing for us to eat. I also had a 15-year-old & 20 year old with me and the 1 rooftop pool Close at 9 PM unless you’re 21 & who wants to go to bed at 9 o’clock on vacation. I was told a 5 minute shuttle ride to beach but it was more like 25 minutes, because shuttle stops at several other stops before the beach. Our ipad furnished in room for amenities didn't work either. Mattress was hard for price you pay. Not really a kid friendly hotel. Grounds were beautiful and hotel very clean.
This property is nothing short of Amazing! Hotel Effie will be my permanent choice for lodging during my leisure and business trips to the Destin area!
Chris the Bellmen was absolutely outstanding, we pulled up and they got our car in valet quick with Chris bringing our luggage to the room. He got us each beverages detailing the different options in the hotel before he showed us to our room where he went over all the amenities. Rooftop pool was amazing, easy walking to the Village of Baytowne Wharf for a great evening of food, shopping and entertainment.

The property is very nice, clean and quite. The higher the room floors the lower the water pressure. The food was awesome and staff were really friendly. The valet parkers were on point and were never late.
For a real expensive hotel, I was not impressed. The food in the restaurant was under cooked, the decorations minimalistic, and cleanliness suspect. I've stayed in a lot of 5-Star hotels and this was by far the worst. First the good: Roof top pool was nice and the drinks at the bar were good. The room was also nice and it was clean. Now the bad: Little things in the room like a tag still on the water hose to the toilet tank and the pump bottle of body wash not working. The doors to the elevators are brass and haven't been shined since the hotel was opened. Also, there was a conference on Wednesday night and all of the smokers went outside to lite up throwing all of their butts all over the place and leaving plenty of trash. This was still not cleaned when we left on Friday. On Thursday morning we ate breakfast in the restaurant. Everything was undercooked or real greasy (eggs, bacon, potatoes). On Friday morning we walked to Bay Towne Wharf and ate breakfast at Another Broken Egg. I ordered exactly the same breakfast as I had ordered at Hotel Effie the previous morning. The meal at the Egg was superb with everything cooked perfectly. Hotel Effie was $20. The Egg was $10.49. Save your money and get better food elsewhere.
Has a rally nice appearance the fire alarm I know you can’t help that but just checked in an I. The shower however the add said an I sure picked the room with a walk out an no walk out look I’m not trying to run down the establishment I just want my money for the time I did not spend there , the manager said she was leaving the room open an that I had to go thru orbitz an I called orbitz an the guy said he would review it that’s a lot of money for the run around of either you can get a refund or no you can’t during the phone conversation with orbitz would have been awesome also with the hotel manager ... either you can or can’t an there was never a yes or no just we’ll see what the other has to say an I mean the hotel puts it on orbitz an orbitz puts it on the hotel ... an upfront answer would have been great an avoided all this .. had I known no refund I’d stayed
