We stayed 5 days and it was a great experience staying at the resort.
The hotel has a lot to dinning options, the staff was very accommodating. If you like to party this would be a good choice in hotels. The room was very comfortable. We recommend this hotel
We expected a better experience for the price we paid. They claim to be a 5 start resort, it’s no more than 3 in my opinion. It was like staying at motel 6 of “luxury” resorts. Good: Excellent staff and service; properly is clean and taken care off; beautiful views. Bad: family rooms with 2 beds have very small full size beds. If you’re traveling with kid (s) it’ll be very hard to fit two adults on one of those beds; Weird bathroom setup. The entire area that is supposed to be a bathroom is opened up. There is no privacy to change. We changed in the shower stall. It’s particularly strange design for family rooms. Uncomfortable beds and even more uncomfortable pillows. Week AC. Food is edible but boring, limited choices and overall hit and miss. Terrible desserts. Specialty Japanese restaurant is just bad. For the volume of visitors very limited pool and beach chairs. Beach is small, we ended up going to Riu Caribe beach because it was nicer, bigger and always had chairs in a shaded areas. In fact we ended up going to Riu Caribe for lunches, beach and pool activities. Entertainment options at Riu Palace are limited. Nothing to do for older kids and teenagers. There is a sports bar with a pool table that you have to pay extra for. We have visited cheaper 3 star resorts in Cancun before with included game rooms, night clubs and mini movie theaters on property. There was absolutely nothing to do in the evening other than watch the show and drink in the lobby. No AC in elevators.

Modern, excellent service , Great entertainment beautiful beaches white sand no waves very safe. Fridge fill up everyday, top Brand alcohol, 5 swimming pools and party nights. Call reception with your needs, they are there in 5 minutes. Every room have Ocean view, glass balconies so you can sit and see all the ocean around. I was in few hotels in Cancun this one is the best was there already three times. Excellent, you won't be sorry.
Pros: impeccable staff, wonderful food options, beautiful and clean property, variety of activities (loved the dance aerobics), fun pool vibe and themed party nights, pretty beach area Cons: evening activities can be loud and we heard knocking on doors all night (ear plugs really helped) beach isn't super walkable We had a wonderful trip and would return! The staff really make this place special. They bend over backward to make you happy. We also loved the food options. Everything was delicious and I at my share of papaya. We were also impressed with the constant cleaning of the grounds. Thank-you for the relaxing vacation RIU Palace Penninsula!

The property is a very nice resort in the Hotel Zone. The Riu Parties they throw are one of a kind. A MUST ATTEND!! Staff was alwaus pleasant ans helpful. The staff definitely engaged the guests young and old. The only thing was the elevators were slow and the weight requirement was a drab. Overall a 4.95
The PEOPLE make this property a GREAT vacation choice. I could not have found a better place for my first Mexican vacation, and will gladly recommend it to anyone who asks. I was so impressed, in fact, that I want to sample all of the Riu properties in the Caribbean next to see if they match the quality experience I had at Riu Peninsula Palace. I use to be a fan of the RIU and a member until my flight was cancelled for a winter storm and I was unable to make the trip and RIU refused to refund any of my money! Their policy states that you will only be charged for the first and second night for cancellation. I was charged for a whole week and given the run around for a refund or credit. I still haven’t been contacted by RIU or refunded or credited for a future stay. This is bad business after all the money I’ve spent at RIU hotels over the years.
