There were plumbing issues in one of our rooms that took 24 hours to fix. No toilet paper in the room

I recently stayed at the May Ramblas in Barcelona, hoping for a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, my stay was marred by disappointment with the facilities and the complete lack of response from the hotel’s manager and staff. Upon arrival, we encountered debris in the shower and promptly informed the front desk. Despite their assurances, the issue persisted, resulting in a flooded bathroom and foul odor. The facilities were unusable. To make matters worse, the hotel was already aware of these plumbing problems, which left us feeling neglected and unimportant as guests. What truly added to our frustration was the complete lack of response from the hotel manager. I sent two emails detailing our concerns and requesting compensation, but received no acknowledgment or reply. This disregard for our concerns only further diminished our confidence in the establishment’s commitment to guest satisfaction. As a traveler seeking a comfortable and enjoyable experience, I expected better from the May Ramblas. The lack of response from the manager and staff, coupled with the unresolved facility issues, left me deeply disappointed. I regretfully cannot recommend this hotel to fellow travelers who value responsive management and well-maintained facilities. It is my hope that by sharing this feedback, the hotel management will recognize the importance of addressing guest concerns promptly and taking actions. Not having functional facilities in the room ruined our stay.

Zero water pressure and hot water was questionable. The flooring wasn’t done properly so all the boards slipped around and were cracked. We lifted one up and it was disgusting underneath. We had a terrace and the same thing with the wood decking, except it also flexed and bounced so you had to be really careful not the stub your toe. We got woken up at 9am with the neighbor using a hammer drill to remodel their deck…15 feet from our bed. Made the use of the room and terrace unbearable until about 6pm. You could feel and hear the springs in the mattress. Staff was nice and great location.

The thermostat kept requiring a reset at the room sub panel every ~3 minutes. Seems to be a known issue. Room on the 2nd floor (#208) with window opened was very noisy from the bar in the early AM. Had to close the window and suffer from a stuffy room. Spoke to front desk but the hotel was full so couldn't switch rooms. Sink bowl shifts and also leaked slightly. Was told would get a discount that hadn't been approved yet.

The staff was the best. Very very helpful and friendly. I truly appreciated that.

everything was fine clean rooms nice front desk person but the hot water runs out when everyone showers you got to wait like at home lol not good at 11pm and trying to catch a plane in the morning only problem was cold shower other then that very good spot for $55 euros

The staff is absolutely amazing, they were helpful, friendly, professional, and best of all accommodating. We will definitely return and recommend them to our family & friends. The hotel is close to everything especially La Boqueria which is literally across the way. Lots of delicious food and adorable stores within walking distance. You will absolutely fall in love with Barcelona.

While May Ramblas may be a prime location (nicely located in downtown), the hotel condition is quite poor. When we arrived to our room around midnight, the staff was nice enough to provide some welcome apples and balloons for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, they failed to noticed that the glass door to the restroom was completely cracked horizontally and pieces of glass would fall to the ground if you tried moving the door. After bring this attention to the staff, they were able to move us to a new room around 2AM. While the new room did not have a crack glass door, it did smell completely like sewer. We did our best to endure the awful smell during our stay there but gave up and moved to a different hotel our last night. The combination of the awful smell coming from the shower, super thin walls that you can hear everyone's conversations, extremely tiny room and the overall poor condition of the hotel was just too much to bare. While the staff may be nice, the hotel overall condition was not acceptable. We would not recommend this hotel for anyone.

Nice, great location!! Would stay here again. Stay off La Rambla and see all of the rest of the city, much more to see and not as many tourists

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and roomy, and liked having a safe. The location was safe and easy access to many venues. I will return for another pleasant stay.

Great location, staff was really friendly and helpful. Close to Ramblas, Gothic Quarter, metro, etc. We really enjoyed our stay! The only downside was the noise on the streets (all day and all night) but other than that, great hotel!

Small room, but clean with two queen beds, and reasonably priced. Staff is friendly and helpful. The main attraction of this hotel is its excellent location in the midst of Barri Gotic--pretty much everything is close, with the Liceu metro station and Boqueria right across the street. Yet, the hotel was reasonably quiet at night. I would come back if I visit Barcelona again.

The location was perfect, staff was great but the room had a weird smell that was affecting my breathing. I didn't bother asking for another room because I hardly spent any time in the room.

Close to every thing.... steps from the Liceum (opera house) and the Ramblas. Friendly staf and very razonable price for a new hotel.
