Stayed here for the weekend during the USGP. About 35 mins from the track without traffic. Everything was great and I would recommend staying here to get out of the hussle and bussle of downtown.
I did not like outside was really dirty as far everything else was really comfortable bed clean towels
Overall our experience was very pleasant with this hotel and it's staff. I never met a face that wasn't smiling and asking how we were doing. On Tuesdays they have a pizza and drinks happy hour for the guests, free pizza from a local mom n pop shop and free drinks including beer. The breakfast was not huge but had better choices than most places we've stayed at. The eggs were cooked in a different style every morning and there was a different meat every morning as well. Also on the breakfast menu was a southern style white gravy that someone must make from home because it was to die for. I ate that every morning over a biscuit. Also there are a few restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. As happens with hotels over time the wear and tear starts to show. The fridge got overheated and I had to turn it off to let it cool down. On the last day as we were leaving the sliding closet door thingy came off the track and when I tried to fix it I could tell that it was already broken and rigged but just came off. Both incidents were reported to the desk. There were some other minor wear and tear but nothing to write home to mom about. Overall we liked this hotel and if we stay in the Austin area again we will stay here again.
We came on the week when renovations were in progress. The entire first floor was being renovated. The floor was bare and the indoor pool that my kids were looking forward too was closed because of the work being done. Only one elevator in the entire hotel and the second and third floor were the only ones being used. Room was clean but beds were uncomfortable. The bed was too close to the ac unit that it was difficult to cool the room cause the air would blow on the bed so we had to put the unit on 64 to try to cool the room. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was good. I wish we were notified about the renovation ahead of time. I could have made a different choice since my kids look forward to the hotel pool every time. We were told that this hotel renovates every five years. So now we know in case we need to stay there again in five years, I can look for something else.
A good location for a business trip if you are business in the North or NW Austin area. Very nice staff. The hotel could use an update with carpeting etc.
Would stay again. Fantastic breakfast! The only thing I would say is that I think my room had soft water, which I'm not super familiar with and always feels weird to me, but that's just personal preference!
