Fly to Jackson Hole Airport
The town of Jackson is located in the Jackson Hole Valley, and is best reached by flights to Jackson Hole Airport (JAC). The airport is located seven miles to the north of Jackson and, when you fly to Jackson Hole, you can take a shuttle service to downtown Jackson or nearby Teton Village, hire a rental car, or take a taxi or limousine service to your destination.
Jackson is a popular tourist destination all year round, due to a variety of nearby ski resorts and also its proximity to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.
Tourists come for the chance to ski in the winter, and choose to hike, go whitewater rafting, horseback riding and boating in the summer.
Jackson Town
Downtown Jackson has a fantastic town square with arches crafted from elk antlers. The area surrounding the square boasts many art galleries and good shops, and in the summer, live performances are staged in the square itself.
Jackson Hole Museum and the National Museum of Wildlife Art are both worth a visit, as is the National Elk Refuge, which also offers tourists sleigh rides in winter.
There are a number of good restaurants downtown, and there are some great bars near the square, too.
