Nice view, close to the beach. Across the street from an authentic Mexican restaurant, and a nice native artifact store. Be aware of the fog horn from the harbor every 10 second, making it difficult to go to sleep, but only on the first day.

This is my favorite place to stay when I go visit family. The rooms are spacious, staff are always pleasant and helpful, plenty of parking, close to the ocean, reasonable pricing and good breakfast selection.

My family and I have stayed at Ocean View Inn multiple times and we have never had a problem until this stay. Our biggest issue this time was that it strongly smelled like marijuana every day that we were there. In the morning the smell wasn’t there but in the evenings is when it was very strong. Thankfully the room itself did not but the main lobby had a very strong smell as did the hallway. It gave me a headache just walking from our car to our room. We traveled with toddlers so I was not pleased with the fact that they were being exposed to that strong smell. Another issue is that they did not have sufficient breakfast portions. Breakfast was until 10 and on our last morning we went down for breakfast at 9 and all of the eggs were gone. When my husband went to ask if they were bringing more eggs out he was told no. We would have understood if we were asking for eggs just a few minutes before they closed breakfast but an hour before did not seem right.

Such a surprising little gem in a not so great city. Staff was absolutely wonderful. Breakfast satisfied everyone in our big group except for no protein options. Kids and adults enjoyed the aquarium next door and their gift shop. Trees of Mystery just down the road. Rooms were clean and spacious. The one with the jetted tub was just what disabled guest needed. The bigger room with 3 beds instead of two had a great ocean view. We will stay here again when we are visiting the redwoods.

Overall, a weird hotel and room set up. You'd think reserving one of the most expensive and largest rooms would indeed have an ocean view, as the name indicates, but rather we viewed the parking lot. The room design was uncomfortable and inconvenient, having the rink area in the sleeping area, outside the bathroom. No comfortable sitting area furniture.

I spent 4 nights at the Oceanview Inn between Christmas and New Years Eve, and found the staff to be extremely friendly. The property is located along a walking/bike path that connects to the Crescent Harbor and the lighthouse (with Sea Quake Brewery along the way). And even though the property is located along Hwy 101, from my room on the back side, looking out at the harbor’s jetty protected ingress/egress point, I could not hear cars at all. Just seals and fog horns when the conditions warranted. The property is very clean and the breakfast consisted of bagels/toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice and coffee/latte/espresso machine. Nice property and I would stay there again.
