One night only
We enjoyed our stay but had to cut it short for personal reasons. We appreciated the personal touches provided by the owner, but would have liked more specific directions to get to the house, which was off the street in an alley with only a mailbox across the street to identify the house number. Very quiet neighborhood behind an elementary school, would stay there again.

Close to college
Visited daughter who went to Humboldt and just got a new job in Arcata working under her degree. Had family and friends for dinner (wonderful stove) as after Thanksgiving, pre Christmas as she will be unable to come home for the holidays. Husband and daughter went crabbing. Good time had by all.

The place had plenty of space. The heaters worked. It is sparse. Bring toilet paper, papers towels, soap, shampoo, hand towels, kitchen towels. Host did provide coffee. The beds were pretty comfortable. It's quiet.

To Rest Your Head
This was a good place to just come to in order to sleep but with the comfort of having your own space. Beds were hard but my Mom liked it & me & my wife did not. Plenty of space for the 3 of us for 2 days to actually only be there to sleep and go do our vacation stuff. There was a couple issues but the host took care of right away. One wasn't his fault the Internet which was great was just acting up the other was there were no towels or a bath matt as well as no TP but once notified he brought it right down & later his other partner brought down more for us. Craig was extremely nice and friendly and he even took the time helping me by giving me some tips on finding the cheaper places to get gas in the area. Overall it was a good stay and worth what we paid for the 2 nights we stayed.

Emma and I visited Humboldt
Loved being close to campus. Nice park for doggie at the end of the street. Excellent appliances in kitchen. My only "needs improvement" was the yard...sadly, other visitors didn't bring dog poop bags.

1 month stay
Great place for pets. Fenced yard. Our dog was able to be in the house. Owner is super cool. Great kithchen, gas grill outside. We stayed a month and thoroughly enjoyed every day

Nice when traveling with dogs
The property is on the edge of town, down an alley that leads to several units. The neighbors were extremely nice. The house is nicely setup for traveling with dogs, with a small backyard. The inside is modest, comfortable and very cleam.

Dog friendly with great location near CPH
Everything we needed for a few days in Humboldt moving our son into school. The fenced yard was great for the dogs and the location was super convenient. Beds might use a topper but overall a decent spot if traveling with pups.

Park close by to run kids or pets. Spacious home with essentials. Bring your own kitchen towels and hand towels/wash cloths. Friendly and welcoming host. Hike Redwoods Park Trail while there. VRBO site not always functioning, so take photo of house info and check in and out process.

Did not feel safe - Rundown, Unkempt, and Smelled Bad
As we were driving the neighborhood trying to find our rental we noticed lots of random stuff in people's yards (oil cans, washing machines, old cars, etc) and lots of unkempt yards with trash. We drove behind a house to get to the unit. The carport is filled with random stuff and you can't park in it. It is partially closed with some planks of wood leaning against it. The yard was not enclosed (it had a small chair blocking part of the deck) The house seemed beat up and had a weird smell. The pictures do not show the entire property. It took us about 30 minutes after our arrival (at 8:00 PM) to finally get the code to unlock the door. After that we decided we didn't feel safe and we left to go find a hotel. This property is overly priced and falsely advertised. I don't think anyone would call it "quaint."

The most uncomfortable furniture.
The fenced area for our dogs was good. Because we travel with them it was the very important. The kitchen was very nice and clean with pretty much everything you need to prepare any meals. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were adequate. Netflix and Hulu were available to watch which was nice. But the furniture in the living room was not comfortable at all and needs to be replaced. If you like to watch tv for more than 15 minutes or maybe just relax you will be very disappointed. Also, some of the amenities stated in the description were not there.

Arcata getaway
My wife and i (and our 3 dogs) stayed here while visiting our niece who in in school here. The place was perfect for us. It is close to everything and has a great fenced in yard for the pups. It is hard to find a nice place that allows 3 large dogs and we always appreciate when an owner allows for us to vacation with the whole family. Highly recommended.

Exploring Arcata
I had a wonderful time in Arcata at this property. When I arrived, the property hadn't been cleaned, sheets hadn't been changed, but the property manager was on-site at the time and hustled to get it all squared away. I made my own bed and was shown where to get towels and the like. (I made my own bed because I *wanted to*.) Property manager said that he'd refund the cleaning fee ("at least", was the promise) due to my changing my own linens and that was generous; I didn't have to ask. My friend's dog was happy in the yard and my daughter and her roommates who attend CPH were able to walk over for meals and visiting. It was quiet at night and reasonably clean. Hot water was hot! Nice little place.

It did the job
Place is cute inside and did the job for us as we were visiting our daughter who lives a couple neighborhoods over. It is very hard to find and the initial communication with the host was sparse, although he did get back to me quickly when I asked questions. I had to ask about the address and directions, the wifi, and really got no check out instructions. The neighborhood is a little sketchy and the back alley it is located on is also sketchy, but it turned out fine. But it all worked out and I appreciated the low fees charged by the host, we would stay again.
