While the building is old and a bit out of date, we found everything clean and in working condition. The staff was very friendly and helpful, glad to answer questions and advise on road conditions. The breakfast was very nice. We even got a cookie on our way out in the morning! We enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again.

Not worth the $$

Bedding was well worn and unraveling in spots. The body wash container was missing from shower (I had my own fortunately) Door lock kept catching on the door when you tried to key in (notified staff) In the morning when I wanted hot chocolate and as the staff stocking cups and coffee I was told there were out when a kid told me they hid them in a drawer. You would think and adult would be able to tell the truth.

We arrived at the hotel 1 hour after check-in and our room was not ready. The front desk person couldn't give us an estimate for how long it would take to have it ready and did not attempt to provide a solution - just stared blankly at me. We returned an hour later and the front desk person handed me the room keys without saying a word - no apology or anything. There was trash all over the parking lot from some bear cubs, which we saw several times during our stay. When notified, the front desk staff stated that they knew the bears were there, but we saw no action taken over the weekend to pick up the trash or secure it in a different area. The breakfast area was almost completely empty the second morning, and when notified, the hotel staff sighed loudly and trudged off to the food preparation area to heat up more, like we were interrupting their morning by asking for food that is supposed to be available during breakfast hours. Overall, the hotel itself was clean, our room was in order and everything was fine.

The area around the hotel is beautiful, with flowers and plants everywhere. The staff and guests were curious and kind. Breakfast was great! We enjoy staying there. I wasn't excited about the increased cost for the Labor Day Weekend.
