Great Hotel overlooking the lake
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is a beautiful place. The rooms and the hotel were very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant there, but the breakfast and the servers were outstanding. The hotel is walking distance to the city center where all the shops and restaurants are. The view of the lake from our room was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. You can't go wrong.

That’s an awesome, really luxury hotel. Everything - parking, service, restaurant, decor, room cleanliness, location - is top notch!!! The spa is awesome with a large indoor pool from which you can swim to an outdoor pool with various labyrinths, showers and jacuzzis and an outstanding “heat” room with a hamam, a sauna, a Turkish sauna and a snow room!!! When in Stresa this is a must to stay in!

Our recent stay at this historical 5-star hotel was a mix of charm and disappointment. While the ambiance and architecture were truly remarkable, our experience was marred by an issue that, for a hotel of this caliber, should have been easily avoidable. Our excitement quickly faded when we discovered in the middle of the night that the mattress in our room was broken. It sagged uncomfortably in the middle, making restful sleep nearly impossible. Given the hotel's 5-star rating, we expected a level of comfort that simply wasn’t met. The following day, we approached the front desk to discuss our concerns and requested to speak with the manager. We were informed that he would be available in an hour. After going for breakfast we returned only to be met with confusion. The staff began searching for him, and after about 20 minutes, we were told that the manager was out of the hotel and not available to address our concerns. At this point, we expressed our disappointment and requested a discount due to the inconvenience. The staff assured us that they would send us an email regarding their decision. While we appreciated the effort, it felt inadequate given the circumstances. For a 5-star establishment, we expected upgraded mattresses and a more proactive approach to guest service. The decision we got via email was basically that they are sorry but they can’t give us any discount or refund. We would hesitate to recommend this hotel to others seeking a truly luxurious stay.

Excellent location. Lovely views from hotel. 10 minutes flat walking to centre of town for dining. Luca, one of the concierges, was extremely helpful on the day of a train strike in organising alternative transport when I was let down by my booked taxi. Many thanks to Luca.

Property and in particular the rooms were definitely dated. Bathroom had no ventilation and I found some black mold growing on side of shower door that was not cleaned. Smelled as if plumbing wasn’t the most advanced. Junior sweet was still small. Restaurant staff was incredibly helpful, however concierge and front desk staff was just okay and not the most friendly (maybe it was just to us). For example, we went to borrow an umbrella, but were told they were out, only to have the concierge flag down someone for an umbrella to give to the couple who went up after us. Waited 5 minutes to try to be acknowledged so I could get our luggage and finally I had to let the concierge know we had a train to catch before they helped me. Overall, it was a beautiful hotel, had a lot of old school charm but rooms could definitely use an upgrade and extra cleaning procedure. Concierge could definitely be more friendly, but maybe it was because we are American and spoke English. Spa however was very modern and nice.

This property has an amazing location and walkable to the town of stresa. The spa is absolutely amazing ..one of the best I’ve experienced. Pools are great ! One is deep with diving board . My major complaint is the room needs updating. While I understand the old world feel, the rooms are dated , furniture is old and worn and very heavy drapes also carpeting should be removed for sanitary reasons . Also a/c vent in my room (550) had black dust or mold in it .
