Wonderful but not perfect

This hotel is gorgeous and in the best location. And very expensive. For the money I paid, I expected more than partially used shampoo and conditioner in the shower, no one telling us the switch in the entrance by the door controls the bathroom lights, and a remote that didn't work (two times) leaving limited access to TV. No offer of a discount when these things were pointed out. Other than this the place is beautiful and wonderful. But for the money, it should be perfect. And it wasn't.

I had no maid service for the 2 nights I was there. The front desk clerk also serves as the valet. The breakfast was cereal, and some items to toast ( in other words don't bother). I believe someone was in my room who wasn't the maid. When I arrived back around 4 pm, a Do Not Disturb sign was on my door and my key would not work. I went back to the front desk to get the key "fixed". I was gone maybe 5 minutes. When I got back, the Do Not Disturb sign was OFF my door. I believe someone was in my room, had disabled my key so I could not enter, heard me try my key in the door, and left the room, and put the do not disturb sign inside the door when I went to the front desk. I would have thought maybe the maid had put the do not disturb sign outside the room, but I had no maid service at any time during my visit. It was a very noisy room as I had windows on 3 sides. Friday night there were people partying outside the window. Saturday morning I was awaken at 7 am due to dumpsters being emptied.

The hotel itself is lovely, and in a prime location. During my stay, I had the pleasure of interacting with JESSICA and SIERRA, who were both friendly, helpful, and genuinely wonderful. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of. Unfortunately, it seems that there is only one staff member handling multiple responsibilities, including check-in, check-out, valet, and room service. This was not an isolated incident, as I encountered the same situation during my previous visit last month. For a hotel with rates ranging from $400 to $600 per night, this staffing model is quite concerning. In summary, the hotel is a beautiful place with outstanding staff, but the management should take steps to address the staffing issues to enhance the overall guest experience.
