Peaceful Retreat
This was the most relaxing getaway! This serene property offers amazing views and it is so quiet. The cabin is simple but has everything you need, including a comfortable bed and well appointed kitchen. The wood fireplace makes it so cozy. Great place to curl up and read a book. Easy, responsive, and helpful communication with the host This was our second stay and can't wait to return!

Great getaway!
My wife and I along with our pup Maggie really enjoyed the tranquil setting of the property. Maggie was able to roam around and explore her surroundings, and be a country dog for a few days. It was a great place to hunker down and escape the rat race for a bit. It was hard to leave but we hope to be back one day!

Writers Retreat
We arrived on the first night of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, which was also a super blue moon in September, a most auspicious beginning! We love this property which was most conducive to writing everyday. The kitchen was conveniently well-appointed, the outside deck a great place to hangout, and the sunsets as others have noted are an everchanging panorama of awe and beauty. And it was so quiet! We'd love to come back.

TOO COLD
My husband and I are in our 70's and 80's. We arrived Monday and left the next day, Tuesday, because we were too cold. The only heating source available was a wood burning stove in the living room and a propane fireplace in the bedroom. We cannot use a wood burning stove or fireplace because we e are allergic to the smoke. It would be nice if they had a propane heater in the living room also. The other problem we had for this day and age there was only 1 electric outlet in the living room/dining area. It would be nice if they had some electric outlets by the kitchen table. Other than that, the location/views were outstanding.

Private and peaceful
We had a great time at the Moonview Ranch! The property was gorgeous, and the cabin was cute and clean. My fiance and I came up with our two dogs, and everyone had an excellent time. The dogs ran up and down the front field all day while the humans lounged outside on a picnic blanket in the sun (or barbecued on the deck). We enjoyed every sunset, and at night we all cozied around the warm wood stove in the living room. We enjoyed just walking around outside so much that we forgot to play bocce ball. We didn't have an issue finding the place as Gail sent us very detailed and clear instructions. The kitchen was actually pretty well stocked and we didn't need to bring half the stuff we did! The bed was also super comfortable and we slept well. Our visit was rejuvenating and restful, and coming from a city, it was really wonderful to spend a couple days with no one else in sight! We look forward to coming back!

Great area
Nice little cabin .. remote but close to activities in the surrounding areas… Sebastopol.. Monte Rio … Jenner.. Bodega Bay .. we explored it all .. one note .. upon booking this property through VRBO it came up as dog friendly in the initial search but on the booking page it said no pets.. it was confusing and I tried several times to contact the Evolve team .. including a call and was never answered . The gal I spoke to saw what I was talking about and was also confused.. I booked it and it is super dog friendly😃. Gail the property manager was awesome and we loved our stay!

Rustic paradise
We were looking for somewhere to stay nearby close family. Something that would be a step up from camping in Grandma's backyard. While the bar was low, this rustic cottage delivered and continued to surprise and delight us throughout our stay. The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need to have a comfortable stay including all you'd need in a kitchen. The living space was warm and comfortable. There were a few dusty corners and cobwebs which certainly added to the rustic feel. One tip for next year: move the bunk beds away from the door. It was too scary for our kids there. Move them into the bedroom or at least where you currently have the daybed. Also, add one more easy chair by the fire. Other than that, the enclosed outdoor space with wonderful mini hikes up to the best views in the county was extremely good for my mental and physical health. We will be back. <3

Great get away for a real get away
Remote but easy to get to the place to be: The Barlow in Sebastopol. Wonderfully well stocked for those who want to do a bit of eating in. Beds are comfy; towels are nice. The place itself is cabin clean. Wonderful sunsets all to your self. In winter months, come prepared to bundle up. Propane heater in bedroom is toasty but need to stoke the fire to stay warm through the night in the LR. Be sure to ask if there is enough fire wood for your stay.

rustic cabin getaway
The cabin is very rustic and private with stunning views. it's a great place to really get away yet still be close to most of the main towns in Sonoma. We loved how removed it was. The kitchen is simple has all the basics. We had last minute guests that used the bunk beds and said they were comfortable. The master bed was very comfortable. The cabin is on a beautiful piece of property, high up with really amazing views. The sunsets were gorgeous no picture could do the justice. There can be fog depending on time of day and season but is cleared up every day we were there in July Things to consider: 1) NO internet and all cell service was very bad. So be prepared to be unplugged for your stay. 2)If you are coming as more than a couple, the bathroom is in the master bedroom with the only door through your bedroom.

Great property terrible management
Property was very much as described and looks just as good as photos. The property was clean and had very rustic feel and charm . Things were going well until the 2nd day we found ourselves locked out of the unit because we left a phone with the door combination inside. It was early in the morning and we figured we could contact the property to the website and ultimately get the code by the end of the day. We emailed through the website as well as called the number listed. 8 hours later we still do not receive a response upon our return. Luckily a window was not locked and were able to get in. Everything was okay after that until we left. When I returned home. I received a barrage of rude text messages from property manager. Claiming that we did not clean up after ourselves week, we were blamed for a pre-existing stain on the floor, and accused of stealing items. We have stayed in over 30 vacation rentals the last few years and left them all in the same condition I never received any kind of feedback like this. Also throughout the cabin we're left post-it notes by property Management of do's and donts. One of these was do not use the plugs in the bathroom because they were inoperative. Had we remembered to bring a hair dryer we would not be able to use it. Not just in the bathroom but anywhere in the cabin. The cabin runs on solar power and the microwave could barely keep up with the electricity demand needed cook food. It would have been the same scenario with a hair dryer. I would probably stay here again and recommended under different management . Also please review amenities listed before booking.
