It's a very nice, cozy place to stay! Front desk manager Ilma was outstanding, helpful, and provided the best service ever! If you stay there, ask her for restaurant recommendations, she knows everything about the city and the best places!

Just okay

The hotel is quite okay, nothing special. The air conditioning worked well. The fridge was useful however no kettle in the room which is inconvenient. The room was very small too, if you have bigger suitcases that’s not comfortable. Also you need to climb up to get to the hotel.

Someone unlocked the door to our locked room while we were sleeping! I’m unsure if it is the same key for some of the rooms or something, but it was a scary situation. Aside from that, the room looked neglected, the leather on the headboard was ripped, towels had stains, and the room was generally not very clean. Hotel is also not easily accessible as it is at the top of a very steep hill. It is located by the city and landmarks. Otherwise, though, would not recommend.

Everything was perfect! And if there are some things that need to be fixed, all of that was replaced by the hotel's young management, which is excellent! All praise for Armin and his colleagues. I even forgot my backpack in the hotel that was sent to me by bus! Any recommendation!

Dont stay at the hotel

Hello I booked the room through hotels.com and the price included breakfast but at the hotel we were told price does not include breakfast and it is not their problem.but it id hotels.com problem. The most important thing no heat the first night and we were cold and had second night little heat.Evreything is so poorly organized this hotel. We arrived the hotel at 1pm. Noone was at the hotel. The door was locked.we have to find person by calling but we dont have local phone line and we have to pay extra phone bill too. During the trip we could not find anyone to take care of us.

Close to the old town

Nice comfortable hotel, although a little dated in its feel. Stayed on the top floor, which is like a small apartment rather than a standard hotel room (and hence no daily cleaning etc). It is at the top of a steep hill, but not worth getting a taxi whilst you're staying there if you can manage the two minute climb at the end of the day. Appear to only take cash - not unusual in Bosnia but needs factoring in.

Overnight Stay in Sarajevo

I arrived at night and quickly found the hotel. I parked my car and was immediately greeted by the hotel staff. They helped me with my luggage and checked me in. I immediately went to my room for the night. The wifi worked great in my bedroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. When I woke up, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet before walking into old town and doing some sightseeing before checking out and continuing on my road trip.

Hotel Herc was great, especially the staff. Room was modest, yet clean and comfortable. Plenty of warm water, etc. When I fell ill while there, staff was good enough to come to my aid with warm soup. Neighborhood was very well located, but be wary of the very steep hill one climbs to get to it.

Was only there for a night, but the staff were very friendly and helpful providing directions around the city. Would stay again. As others mentioned, there is a bit of a steep hill between the old city and the hotel.

Nice little hotel on a hill.

The hotel was small but had interesting rooms. Ours was under the roof. Good view of Sarajevo. Staff was very helpful. Good breakfast. Parking was difficult on sloping ground with surface of mostly smooth rocks. Road access to hotel is by a devious route thru tite places and hairpin turn. On foot it is a strate but challenging uphill walk, followed by stair climbing (4 stories and no elevator). That was too daunting for my 76 year old wife, so we took a taxi which was a good option because Sarajevo fares are the lowest in Europe.
