Reservé con ellos la primera noche de mis vacaciones, mi sorpresa al llegar de madrugada fue que habían cancelado mi reservación ya pagada, nadie me avisó, en ese momento no me ofrecieron ni una disculpa, ni un vaso de agua, me toco dormir con mis hijos un poco en unos sillones y salir a buscar otro hotel, aun no recibo la devolución de mi dinero, la actitud del personal del turno y su gerente ha sido de lo peor que he visto, su única ayuda fue llamar por teléfono a otro hotel y decirme camine 4 cuadras y lo encontrara. Si no quieren arriesgar sus vacaciones les sugiero tomar en cuenta este comentario.

Property was very nice, very clean, staff very nice. Issues arised during check-in when they couldnt find my reservation was paid. Had to contact expedia and wait 45 mins to be allowed to check in. When we were leaving to go on a walking tour, noticed a group of 4 having the same problem. Location is great, area around hotel was safe and lobby was cute. Negatives include a hot room, lucky if it got to 74-75 and it took 4-5 hours to get to that. Shower floor is slippery, bathroom door didnt close, pillows werent great, bed is very firm, and there was a red blinking light in the middle of the room over the bed which was awful. At first glance and for the price and location and service, 5 stars. But several annoying things brought down the overall stay at the property.

The air conditioning in the newer rooms is an issue. I started with 320 and while it registered 16 Celsius, it was more like 26. The 2nd night they gave me 302 which was an older room and AC was fine but door did not lock from the outside so I couldn't leave my things in it. The last 2 nights they gave me 305 which was really nice with a balcony and an apology letter and fruit dish. So stick with the older rooms.

My stay here was nice. The property is pretty outdated, not as clean as it should be. The shower heads were not clean at all and the walls were not so clean. But the staff was amazing, Alexander at the bar, Alexandra the waitress, Juleisy the cashier, Yeiry, Nicol and Ashley were all great, their customer service was amazing, they made it a pleasant experience and they made the stay feel more comfortable.

Classic European style hotel in Colonial Center
Classic European style hotel in Colonial Center. Older building with some updates but simply done. Our room was one of two corner rooms with small balconies over the street, which we were told are the best rooms in the hotel. As with any old hotel, not very soundproof. Rooftop restaurant is nice, and you get a sense of the heyday maybe 100 years ago.

Hotel with an exceptional staff. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Gran Hotel Europa in Santo Domingo, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and valued. Nicole, Yeiri, Liz, Yuleisi, and Alexandra were incredibly helpful, ensuring that every detail of our stay was perfect. Alexander and Estefani, the supervisor, went above and beyond to assist us, checking in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable retreat after exploring the city. The hotel's colonial architecture added to its charm, and the decor was thoughtfully curated. One of the highlights of our stay was the roof terrace. At sunset, It offered a lovely ambiance, and the prices for food and drinks were very affordable. For food, my girlfriend enjoyed the traditional Dominican bandera, while I savored a delicious steak and a glass of sangria. Both meals were delightful! Overall, our four days experience at Gran Hotel Europa was fantastic, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable!

The room I booked and paid for wasn’t available when I got to the hotel plus checking in was horrible they couldn’t find my reservation and when they found my reservation the Yeah room I booked they had given it to somebody else and mind you I paid for this before getting there then they tried to make it seem that because the miss understanding they were going to accommodate me my baby No and my husband in a better room than what I paid for, which it was the opposite they downgrade me to smaller room with little space no windows horrible. Mind you I waited for about 2hrs to check in my baby is under one year and he was uncomfortable crying when I got the room they finally gave me had no energy to complain about the situation of how small of a room it was
