We live in Richmond and spent the night in the hotel as a special treat to ourselves. I was delighted with the size of the Maymont room. We easily were able to walk to the Hard Shell where we had dinner. Check in and check out was incredibly easy and fast.

The front desk people were nice and offered to hold my luggage while I attended a conference but then when I got up to my room, the drawers in the bedroom kept falling open and would not stay closed in the Lovely room, then when I went to take a shower I couldn’t figure out how to use the handle and it was loose like it was falling off. But the room did look like it had just been remodeled which was good. Then they told me I got free breakfast and when I came downstairs I was charged for the food I ordered. Regarding the shower issue, I called the front desk and the front desk lady was YELLING to her associate to have a man come upstairs to check it and she seemed like she didn’t know what she was talking about. Other than that it was fine

Roomy, comfort across from the Capitol

This nicely renovated classic hotel sits across from the Capitol and offers roomy suites at a reasonable price. The living room furnishings are comfortable and not econolodge cheap, too firm, upholstered boxes. Valet parking staff are excellent though the great location means there is loads to walk to directly. The front desk staff is welcoming and happy to offer local insight. A nice stay.

This was a prefect property. The room was a suite, so much space. This was a place I would live if it was an apartment. So quiet, the elevators were great, love that they only hold a few people instead of a mass of people. Loved my stay would stay again for sure!!!

Not a value and no way a 4 star hotel.

The room was clean but the building and amenities are dated and dark. The website description and photos are deceiving. For close to the same price you could stay at the Omni which is 2 blocks away.

Great Staff & Location with our small dog.

The Valet & Front Desk & Bartender were GREAT. We had our small dog & happily found ourselves upgraded to a bigger suite that was great - being RIGHT NEXT TO the Capital Park was great for easy dog walks. Very nice older Hotel with wonderful Staff!
