Well managed and clean hotel in Newport News, VA

We have been to this HI location quite a few times. This is a very nice hotel. It is convenient to anything you would need. The bathroom shower was excellent; clean. We like a firm bed and this one was good. Check-in and check-out staff was very friendly and helpful.

All we needed for a good stay

Comfortable bed, good pillows, great shower, good breakfast and coffee. The only thing to be negative about was the ice machine wasn't working on our floor but the 4th floor was working.

I stayed at this hotel about 2 years ago. It has really gone down since then. Everything looks so worn and dated. It does not have a fresh clean look. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet. But won’t stay here again when I visit with family.

My husband, 9 month old, and pets had a lovely stay. There was no pet smell and I was pleasantly surprised because that’s a tough battle to fight! However, it was fine. You could hear a little barking now and then but that’s to be expected. There is not a ton of places for dogs to potty so picking up after your dog is non-negotiable. The room was clean, shower was clean, and the bedding was fresh. The staff was very nice. They had free hot breakfast each morning and each day it was a little different, which we appreciated. The ONLY complaint we had was the temperature in the hotel. It seemed as if there was not air or either a very poor quality hvac system throughout the hotel. The rooms weren’t terrible. Each room has a ductless unit controlled by a wall panel but walking from the room to the elevator ect, it was ToAsTy. Mind you, we’re in a heat wave in the middle of the summer. But that was our only complaint during our stay. If we were looking for a clean pet friendly hotel in Newport News, we’d stay again!

Carpet on the hallway third floor has a smell, it needs deep cleaning or new carpet, other than that hotel is ok for a short visit.
