The room was pleasant and tastefully decorated. The spa was lovely, especially the steam room. The service at the restaurant left a lot to be desired but the manager was helpful. The breakfast was a bit limited and served in what felt like a function room rather than a purpose designed dining room. I probably wouldn’t rush to come back but it was a decent stay.

Nice room but this is just a gym really

Was ok …Very nice room , very clean and spacious . The spa facilities were small and so were the changing rooms Breakfast was ok. The biggest let down was the food. I think what they call the restaurant is just the club room for the gym members . Menu was limited , no specials etc Felt slightly Cheated , it’s more of a gym It’s fine if you know that . I just felt for 90 quid a night we would have more of restaurant and possibly something more on the grounds to do

We had a great stay over New Year’s Eve. The staff were welcoming and the rooms were excellent. The spa facilities were on the small side and lacked a decent space to sit, but we still very much enjoyed them. The only let down, as others have said in reviews, is the food. It felt basic in comparison to the rest of the facilities and service received elsewhere.

Overall the room was lovely. Disappointed with our dining, cost us £100 for 4 meals. The steak was not worth £26.00 and when complaining to the staff they also agreed this. Service was slow, steak didn’t come with the peppercorn sauce and had to wait for that. Deserts were poor and not worth the £8.00. Overall hotel room was lovely but would not visit again.

Nice room, service not so!

Check in was ok. Seems that they were lacking trained staff though and had to wait to ask a colleague something. Room comfortable and amenities decent. The pool/spa is really nice. Breakfast ok, but we booked for dinner and the whole thing was an absolute shambles. Food quality, wait time and (non) service. Maybe a lack of trained staff between Xmas and New Year, but was dreadful all round. Other than that, at a reasonable price it was decent.

Nice hotel

Hotel and room was nice, facilities just not big enough for amount of rooms i.e pool and spa very busy all time. Food was excellent both evening meal and breakfast although bar says shut at 11 and actually closed at 10 so couldn't get a drink after that and breakfast was really busy no tables cleaned and waiting on food to be brought out was bit of a let down, a few bits in room needed sorting, plug for kettle not working and no wash in bathroom had ran out would stay again .

Good stay. Large, nicely decorated room, nice comfortable bedding. Well considered communal areas. Friendly staff. Wish we had time to use the facilities. Tasty, fresh breakfast only negative comment would be the lack of atmosphere in a large conference room used for breakfast service.

Great place to stay

Have stayed several times. Always clean, lovely room, big bed, excellent shower, good facilities. Ate in the club bar - was surprisingly good as expectations were low based on other reviews online of the food here

Enjoyable stay in great hotel..

A great place to stay for a quiet weekend away or to explore the Peak District. The swimming pool and spa were good, the hotel is very clean, breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

What a lovely place to stay. Room is very well appointed with a comfortable (and massive) bed and a beautiful bathroom. We will happily stay here again next time we are in town.
