The property was large and very spacious. It was clean and comfortable. The house is near the water and close to town. We stayed here for a work conference, and it was nice for everyone to have their own space.

Great family space
Our group consisted of 8 adults and 2 small children. The bedrooms were large and the community spaces accommodated our group nicely. The backyard had plenty of space for enjoying the outdoors. The location was ideal for our group.

Perfect for a large group
This property was the perfect place for a group of old friends to come together to celebrate a wedding. The number of bedrooms and the pullout couch accommodated our large group comfortably, as did the open kitchen and dining rooms. We very much enjoyed the spacious backyard seating area too. Highly recommend this property for your stay in Chester!

Magical place
Where do I start we had such a wonderful time at this lovely house it felt like home. Such a wonderful little village to walk around all the Comforts of home. We had an amazing lunch at the Focsle Pub then we proceeded to walk to the local Beach. Everything you need is within walking distance. They even had a pack and play for a baby. The backyard is so nice to sit out and just enjoy the smell and the sunset. I highly highly recommend this home. And will be back to stay again we had such a nice time. The hosts were incredible great communication great welcome with suggestions. Any questions we had they answered us right away.

Lovely!
We had a great family reunion in Nova Scotia and based half our stay in Chester. The dining room table was the focus of group dinners made in the well supplied kitchen. The back porch and shaded yard area was a welcome refuge for those wanting to sit and read away from the hubbub. The owner was very prompt in answering questions and super friendly, she supplied a badminton set when we asked if she had one, which was totally unnecessary but very kind. The large TV/Family room area was well used in the evenings by those who like to stay up later. There was plenty of room for all ten of us to have our own beds as appropriate. We loved our stay!

Overpriced, fragrant, income property
Overall would not recommend staying here! Chester is a beautiful town, with easy access to everything on the south shore. It’s a wealthy little town with character. However, I think these hosts have used this to overcharge for their property. Positives: comfortable beds, beautiful yard, access to south shore; check in easy! Pictures reflect reality Negatives: so many air fresheners that we all had a headache in entering. We actually took them outside for our stay; TV did not work; wireless internet slow; kitchen not well stocked; checkout instructions poor (charged for cleaning above average cleaning time?); dirty doors that need new paint; Overall would not recommend staying here!

Huge Space, amazing value
Our family recently spent 5 days in this beautiful home, and we're very pleased with our stay in Chester. Small community, great weather, and a rental that had all the comforts of home. Anything and everything you would need in a kitchen was present, beds were comfortable, lovely spot out back with fire pits, nicely landscaped, even a few toys for young kids in the shed out back! Kelley from Chester Management group was extremely accommodating, and we highly recommend this property for large family gatherings. We enjoyed breakfast at the Kiwi Cafe, who also have amazing seafood chowder. Spent some time at Fo'c'sle which is the oldest pub in Nova Scotia, playing pool and enjoying some of the craft beers. Didn't have a chance to do the Iron Works distillery tour but was told that it's highly recommended. Enjoy your stay folks, this was a great place to spend time with our family.

Adequate and fair value
Six active 60+ people from around the world booked this older home for one week in mid July. Kitchen: had lovely new appliances, plenty of dishes and cutlery for all, nice selection of stainless steel pots and pans, satisfactory knives but Teflon frying pans needed to be replaced as they were very difficult to cook with. (Several of us enjoy cooking so we found these worn out pans very frustrating) BBQ grill & Laundry appliances: were both excellent in quality and easy to use. Dining room/front sitting room: it had a large dining room table and acceptable chairs. Front room gathering area had pleasant enough arm chairs and a couch to make a nice visiting area, we also switched on the easy to use gas fireplace one evening to take the chill off the air. We did not use the Smart TV but it looked quite fine. Bedrooms: Comfortable rooms, all had small room fans if needed. All the beds had VERY firm mattresses, it would have been nice to have had a quality memory foam or two available to add onto the mattress for those who desired something a little softer. We did find a thin sponge foam that added a wee bit of soft comfort for our older bones. Bathrooms: were adequate Outdoor area: Sufficient, but not inviting. We did not use this area. Location: not close to the water but certainly within short walking distance to it, therefore reflected in the price This house would be suitable for a family with children, or people that can negotiate the steep narrow stairs steps to the bedrooms. Overall this older home was adequate and user-friendly and only needs a few minor improvements to make it even better.
