The hotel is fine for what it is worth. But I am very disappointed Orbitz suggested this hotel. I feel Orbitz was very misleading with saying this hotel is 40 miles from Sequoia National park. As the bird flies that is true. But to drive it, the road distance is over 250 miles and 5 hours away from Lone to the Sequoias. I wasted a vacation day driving to a hotel in Lone Pine, and I am highly upset about this.

Small older building that does not look like much from the street. But our room was nicely redone inside. They have a nice looking pool. Check in was easy. I would stay again.

I liked the location but the pool seemed in rather poor condition as did the rooms baseboards which indicated there had been a flood/water damage. . Found a cockroach in our room which was a bit concerning.

Ok place to stay.

It’s a typical motel. Very simple and this is what I needed for 3 nights, just to sleep after long hiking. It’s only 30 minutes away from the Whitney trailhead. A little bit pricey but it’s understandable.

This unpretentious motel is a great value. We stayed here before and after our hike of Mt Whitney. What we wanted was a clean motel with good air conditioning and easy parking after our long hike. The Trails Motel met all of this. Other nice things were microwave, refrigerator, and a coffeemaker in the room. Also, an ice machine and serviceable pool. Although it is an older motel, it is well maintained. I definitely would stay there again

The lady at the front desk was pretty rude. I checked in around 9 PM so maybe she was tired or cranky, but I left the reception desk puzzled by how much attitude I had recieved upon asking very simple questions. The next morning that same woman knocked on our door and after several seconds allowed herself in without much of an announcement. The room itself was okay, towels had stains and so too did the sheets but hey, I didn’t pay the price I did for a luxe experience. I think the one thing that it had going was the convenience of booking pretty last second and its location. Love Lone Pine and its surrounding area, Trails Motel not so much.

With options limited at my time of booking, I was pleased with the value of our room. No frills but clean, quiet, convenient, reasonably priced. Easy check in and basic room that met our needs.

I would stay there again

I would stay there again. It was a good basic room and allowed for 30 30-minute early check-in both times I checked in (one week apart) which was greatly appreciated. The Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable.

Preis-Leistung für die Unterkunft in Ordnung. Zimmer eher etwas klein, aber für eine Nacht machbar. Badezimmer wurden erneuert. Pool direkt an der Hauptstrasse, leider kein Schatten, aber dafür Wasserqualität gut.

No Frills Motel but it is clean

We had a challenge of parking our car in the very small parking lot which probably was created in the 1950's for leaner cars. The air conditioner was terribly noisy and we were unable to go to sleep until we just shut the thing off at 11:00 pm. Other that that, we were greeted at the front desk and our room was fine for a 1 night layover. It is on the main street but we heard no noise in our room. This is a very basic motel without frills, but it is economical and it was very clean.

Whitney Stay

I was there to hike Mount Whitney. The hotel was in a wonderful location, very comfortable, and perfect for the trip. If I hike the mountain again, I will be back!
