Relaxing lovely location, like Cornwall but without the crowds and with better beaches.
We enjoyed the relaxing location just outside Le Molay Littry. It's 50mins from Caen in countryside like Cornwall, but without the people! We weren't aware it's right next to a cow farm but they weren't a bother, but there are a lot of flies, which we got used to. The house is a little sparsely furnished but spacious. The bedrooms could do with a chest of drawers each and there's room for them. Downstairs is a bit minimalist too. Some soft furnishings would break up the noise a bit. The town itself is not the best around but it's got a decent supermarket. We didn't go to any other shops or restaurants there! Bayeux is where to go for everything around there. Trevieres is nice too. The location is super relaxing though and that made it worth the visit. It's a real dark spot at night so you'll see the stars no problem. It's very quiet and the wind through the trees on the avenue to the house is lovely. It's a good base to see all the D day stuff. Best beach is the nearest one - Omaha, about 25 mins away, with miles of wide soft sand and hardly anyone on it . There all good though. Things for the kids - Bayeux Aventure Parc is just fantastic and had evening concerts every Friday night for free, which were amazing. Normandie Luge is superb too and well worth the visit - the next level up from the other one. We didn't bother with festyland as I think it's for smaller kids. Mine were 11 and 12 at the time and loved both other parks.

Paradise in France
Loved the house. It was truly perfect. It was spotless, bright and airy and had everything anyone could possibly want or need. The setting is wonderful, very serene and calm with fields of cows grazing. Perfect for us. All the main D Day beaches were a short drive, small town and supermarkets nearby and Bayeux also a short drive. Natalie, our host, was so friendly and helpful. Would love to return.

Quiet, spacious and comfortable country home with great Normandy location
After spending 5 busy days in Paris, this was the perfect peaceful home base for exploring Normandy. Easy access to the D Day landing sites and picturesque coastal towns. Lots to do in Bayeux just a short drive away. Easily made a visit to Mont Saint Michel on our last full day before returning to Paris for our flight home the following morning. Highly recommend and would definitely return! Nathalie was super helpful.

Wonderful Spacious Farmhouse
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The owner was very helpful and friendly. The lounge is large and complete with fireplace for winter warmth. The kitchen is very well equipped. It is close to lots of interesting towns including Bayeux, Arromanches, Landing Beaches and beautiful Beuvron-en-Auge. Highly recommend!

Lovely setting - disappointing stay
A few days before we were due to arrive Natalie emailed us to remind us to bring bed sheets/towels or we had the option to rent them along with a cleaning fee. My mistake as I don't speak/read French (contract being in French) so this was a bit of a surprise. As we had already left home we agreed to rent the sheets/towels as we had no other option. It would be really good to have a contract in French/English to avoid any misunderstanding and to publish the fees chargeable. I thought 70 Euros as a cleaning fee was a bit steep and cleaned the villa myself. I thought the request for a 50% security deposit was a bit steep but did not pay this and provide details of my travel insurance. I agree with the previous review - there was only a toilet upstairs and no hand basin. The floor boards were so creeky that it did wake us up when going to the toilet. To get to the main bathroom you had to walk downstairs, through the lounge which had no curtains, kitchen with no curtains and then into the bathroom at the far end of the villa (there were builders on site)! The villa is in a lovely setting but is a few kms out of town. We wanted to eat out on evening but only had a choice of a couple of restaurants and one was closed most evenings, hence we had to eat out during the day and then eat in the villa on an evening. I would strongly suggest when renting to international visitors that a contract in English (the one in French is over 2 pages long) would be useful.

Holiday OK but abusive email after departure not acceptable! Beware.
This holiday home is as advertised but the headline is misleading - bear in mind the Pool is a wobbly old pool table, and not a swimming pool. The oven doesn't work well at all (dinner takes forever to cook), and there are no warddrobes so no where to hang your clothes! The oddest thing though was there are no wash hand basins in either toilet room. This means that if you like to wash you hands after using the toilet, you have to go downstairs and through the lounge and kitchen to a sink in the bathroom. This wouldn't be such a big problem if it didn't wake the whole house up with the noise of the flooring. In our opinion this is just dirty and it wouldn't take a lot to put a basin in these rooms as they are plenty large enough. The overriding memory from our stay though is the hostile email received from the owner after we departed. It was a bolt from the blue as the owner had visited us 30mins before we left and repaid our deposit, and collected the govt tax. She shook my hand and thanked me. The email however chastised me with venom for not following her 'rules of life'. Having supplied a 5 page contract in French it turns our that leaving a light on is worthy of sending abuse. It was dark when we left so please forgive us! We put all rubbish in the bin, but alas we didn't use the provided bags, because weren't aware there were any provided, and all shops were closed for the first 24 hours of our visit. Why did you leave the bins without bags in if so important to you? To be clear you refunded the deposit in person at the premises, so your comments afterwards are staggering, pedantic, and very rude. After renting through OwnersDirect for the past 7 years without issue, this was the singularly the worst experience, not helped with the owner not speaking a word of English. Very disappointed. By the way, the area is fantastic, and it is a short distance to see the Allied landing beaches and Bayeaux tapestry. Le Mont St Michel is also within driving distance and the roads are excellent.

Wonderful stay and wonderful host.
This farmhouse is fantastic. Everything you need for a holiday. Spacious and so close to all the battlefields and memorials in Normandy. You really need to rent a car. We came in by train and Natalie picked us up at train with all our luggage and got us home. Then she took us to rent a car (didn't work out for first attempt) so she took us for groceries and arranged for a taxi to pick us up next day for car rental. Delightful lady, just wants to make sure you have a good holiday!! If I'm ever back in that neck of the woods would be happy to stay again. Thanks so much Natalie!!

A lovely house in a peaceful setting with easy access to shops and the Normandy landings beaches
The house is lovely & very spacious, and well equipped with a pool table, table tennis in the garage, bicycles (chain locks in cupboard by pool table if needed) and board games/ children's toys. The TV only has French stations, but our son loved the sports channel! The kitchen photo shows a fridge with small freezer above, but there is actually a large half and half one, so plenty of freezer space if needed. Small appliances include a basic coffee maker + a Senseo coffee machine, toaster & raclette machine. The only garden is at the front, and unfortunately there is only a floor standing airer to put washing on. I prefer a firm mattress so the thick foam style was a bit soft for me, but our sons loved theirs! Nathalie is wonderful, and happy to help should you need it, which we did when a bird made a detour down the chimney!! She has provided plenty of literature on places to visit and local amenities. The house is very well set up, and would be lovely at any time of year. Thanks so much Nathalie xx

Perfect base for visiting the D-Day beaches
Our stay was very good. Maybe if you are with 6 persons, the couch is too small. The fire place, the kitchen and the bedrooms are perfect. The pool-tabel is good, but the chalk and the cue needs some tlc. The start was a little bumpy because we got the wrong phone-number from the concierge, but we solved that with VRBO. After that, the beautifull house was a perfect place for us to start our trips to the D-day beaches, museums and Memorials.
