A favorite of Kiawah vacationers for years and secluded among pines and palmettos, this cottage offers both privacy and convenience to guests. Centrally located to take advantage of all West Beach Village amenities and attractions, or if you prefer, hide away at your own community swimming pool (250 yards away). There is WiFi to keep you connected during your stay. This home has a deck with a gas grill and screened porch. Beach access is just about 350 yards away.

This non-smoking vacation rental property includes parking, 24-hour security in a gated community, central air conditioning, cable TV, wireless internet, a DVD player, a well-equipped kitchen, a washer/dryer, linens and bath towels, a departure housekeeping service, and a starter supply of paper products and detergents.

False advertisement

The property advertised 1 min walk to beach with a picture of walkway to beach. This is NOT true...you actually walk on the road to beach access that is atleast 5 to 8 minute walk, then to beach access walkway. Please correct this for future renters. Inside needs updated , carpets need to be removed or deep cleaned, counter tops need replaced...they are white and stained. The ice maker made very little ice in 7 days. We called the number we were given about the refrigerator and call was not returned until next day. Also, we were told about use of large community pool but was told when we arrived that we were not members and could not use the pool. The pool we could use was suppose to have a hot tub ...the pictures show a hot tub...no hot tub...filled in with concrete. Pictures neeed updated. We paid alot of money for this rental and it is not what is shown.

Excellent dog-friendly beach cottage

This Sparrow Pond cottage was a perfect fit for our family of four plus pups. PROS The cottage is laid out nicely with a wrap around porch and a central living space surrounded by bedrooms. The master has a private bath, which was a nice touch. Some Kiawah spots have jack-and-jill bathrooms. The location is amazing--nestled in trees a short walk and even briefer bike ride to the beach. Closeness to a pond meant for great wildlife watching--saw several gators and loads of birds. Quite close to a golf course, if that is your thing, too. The beach is a dream. Never crowded. Water was warm in late June. You can bring your own chairs or rent on the beach. Doing the latter means you need not carry anything save your box and sunscreen for the short walk. Sunrises and sunsets were incredible. Lots of paths for dog walks. CONS The downsides here are that the place is clean but not pristine. Somewhat to be expected for a dog friendly spot. Grill had not been cleaned in a bit. And kitchen is decently equipped but don't expect to prepare gourmet meals as you would in your own house. There was lots of construction this year around the entry, but that did not intrude too much into the experience. Overall, a terrific stay at a super cottage. We look forward to next year!

Great location, but dated and carpets in horrible condition

This cottage is in a great location, but is very dated. It is dog friendly, so we knew it wouldn’t be top notch. The carpets, however, were totally disgusting. They were stained, torn and smelled pretty bad. We aired the place out and the smell dissipated a bit, which made it tolerable for the duration of our stay. Otherwise, we had a nice stay at this cottage and enjoyed the neighborhood tremendously. I would suggest replacing the carpets ASAP as we found their condition to be disappointing for the price we paid to stay here.

Has everything. Close to the beach

My family loved the stay. We rode bicycles all over the island and on the beach. The beach is at a walking distance. The property needs an update but is maintained clean overall and has everything one may need for a vacation.

Nice beach vacation

This quiet, private house is located very close to the beach and the pool. Once you have had enough of the sun you can come back and relax on the screened in porch surrounded by the woods. There are many bike paths all over the island as well. We only used the car to go to the grocery store. The management company is very through and they do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable.

Best vacation we’ve had

With 3 kids and a dog, it can be hard to relax on trips, but everyone in family agreed this was our best ever family vacation. Only moved car twice in four days because we were all happy walking or riding bikes to beach and pool. Cottage still offered plenty of privacy. Thanks for a great vacation!
