I had no power in my cabins, and someone from the staff decided to dig a hole on the ground to bare a hose a night behind my cabin

Love the place..... It was awesome ....my family enjoy it . I would stay again. The only thing they can do it's have someone on site I saw no one around until later in the afternoon...... and have the password for WiFi on the email that we get.

Horrible experience
In temperatures over 100 degrees, we arrived at SoCal Camping with two teenagers, only to find a glorified tent with two beds and nothing else: no electricity (and no refrigerator), no fire grill, no shade, no kitchen utensils, no information about the Wi-Fi code, no indication that using charcoal was prohibited,... Fortunately, we found a campsite representative who informed us that kitchen utensils cost an extra fee, as did each tube for the river. In this heat, the tent felt like an oven. Without an option to cool off and facing the risk of heat stroke, we left the campsite within 30 minutes. Aside from this representative, communication was nonexistent. Hotels.com was unable to reach the property after we complained. Despite this information being on their website, Hotels.com is guilty of false advertising. The pictures of tubes and kitchen utensils led us to believe they were included in a very steep night rate. Instead, we got a glorified tent that lacked even the nightstands shown in the pictures. We had to pay for an additional two nights at a local motel, which even offered electric BBQ grills free of charge aside from the usual (AC, fridge). Thanks to this motel, we were able to enjoy the river in Kernville. We bought two tubes, which ended up being cheaper than renting 2 tubes at SoCal. While their website description may have been more accurate, it still feels like a rip-off for what we found at arrival.

Recharge and unwind here!
My second time, and will not be my last, God willing. Love this hidden spot by the river. It is a great place to unwind and recharge. The trail nearby is a must! Make sure to bring flashlights, food, and toiletries. Sunscreen and insect repellant are also highly recommended. Other than that, you are set! They offer watershoes for free. Step down to the river bank, walk around the majestic Redwoor trees nearby, or just enjoy a coffee by the river and watch the sunrise.

Perfect mix of camping but with some of the comforts of home. The restrooms and showers were clean and well stocked. There were dinner options nearby and it was pretty close to trail of 100 giants. Probably best to visit late summer once nights start to cool down. My husband and I had a blast and can’t wait to visit again with our kiddo.

…very skeptically at the beginning since it was our first time there, but quickly impressed by the kind and friendly response from the on site staff ( shout out to Connie and Carrie). We love the place, a perfect combination of the outdoors experience with the indoors commodity.

Dishonest and terribly managed
1. Terribly managed business. Very-hard/ impossible to reach business owner and/or service provider 2 We had a booking for one night through Hotels.com. once we arrived, found that our allotted Cabin was locked. We texted/called business owners repeatedly to get the lock code without any luck. So ended up paying twice the amount to another business for an emergency stay. I saw other several guests in same situation. To some guests, lock code was provided in advance over text but not to us. 3. Our booking was for a cabin with 2 beds while the allotted cabin had a single bed, Another guest had paid for a cabin with 3 beds and they were allotted a single bed cabin too. Like us they were not able to reach the business owner either and had to look for alternative place of stay

This place is amazing for all the negative reviews out there if you are not in touch with nature stay away. This place was magical in its own sense, waking up to the sound of the river and seeing the milky way over our area was mesmerizing. I recommend highly will be back for SURE!!!

Enjoying Nature in Comfort
My wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend. We wanted to go camping without all the hassels of camping. SoCal Camping was exactly what we needed. No tent or sleeping bags needed. Hot water shower and toilets included. Friendly host.

Great way to try camping
My husband and I booked this trip to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. My daughter has also been asking to go camping for at least a year and we weren’t ready to buy all the equipment. This was the perfect way to get the camping experience without the commitment! The view of the river and the mountains was breath taking. The restrooms had real toilets and were immaculate. The kids loved the shower set up! It was like taking a rock waterfall shower with a view of the clear blue skies. You could hear the river and it was so relaxing. I didn’t see river access from the campsite but there are plenty of day use areas that get you closer to the water nearby. As an added bonus they have coffee available in the mornings. We brought in our own food and kitchen supplies and firewood but pretty much everything else was provided by the host. Including tables, chairs, and a grate to cook over the fire. Would recommend and would definitely say again.
