Lovely stay - couple of niggles but would return
Had a lovely overnight stay with my partner. Grounds are beautiful and decor is lovely. I upgraded our room to a superior one but it looked out onto a wall which was a bit of a shame. I think the pool and spa facilities could be upgraded, I'd also seen the photo of the outdoor jacuzzi and was really excited to use it but was told you had to pay extra for it which was a bit of shame. Really liked the bar area and staff were very good.

Checked in just on Midnight, told all facilities were closed. Could not get a refreshment / drink after a very long day. Night porter was not sure where our rooms were but did try and walk us to them. Fire alarm went off 5am, and again briefly at 5.15, then delivery truck outside my window shortly after so had less than 4 hours sleep. Breakfast ladies very welcoming and friendly and food was very good, hot & fresh with decent quality ingredients. Would likely stay again, but would not be my first choice of hotel

A jack-hammer was going during working hours off-property that was completely out of Thainstone's control but that did little - very little in fact - to take away from the overall wonderful experience. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Lovely hotel set in stunning grounds. Staff where all lovely friendly and helpful. Great Gym and pool. Down side very worn and dated rooms. Basic tv channels, ceiling all cracked and damaged, bathroom well outdated and small bath. Food was beautiful.

Overnight stay for partner 50th. Beautiful setting. Room was comfortable clean. Was disappointed with breakfast. Tea and coffee was not nice. The cooked breakfast i did not eat. Bacon was burnt and scrambled egg cooked and no more. The pool was lovely nice temperature with great steam room..but average sauna and jacuzzi. Would not stay again.

Our room was rather dirty with mold and dust everywhere. The bed was lumpy. The fixtures on the wall were old and falling apart.The light in the bathroom leaked water all night and day. There were no measures taken too sound proof any part of the room. I heard everything our fellow guests were doing the entire trip - doors banging, people arguing ect. . Resulting in bad sleep. The two TV didn't work and neither did the remotes. You have to book for a swim and use of the facilities. Quite odd. Also we were charged twice for our stay. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were lovely and friendly. The woman behind the desk in particular was very nice and she made our trip. We liked that the hotel was dog friendly. The breakfast was nice. Would we be back, no however I can see why it might appeal to some.
