Ok

Check in was good but not very informative. Beds were worn with dips in the mattress. Restaurant was overpriced for the food provided. Lounge was nice. Location was perfect. Refrigerator in room but no microwave. Hair on the bathroom floor.

It is right on the South rim of the Grand Canyon. You step out of the hotel and there you are. The hotel is old and Historic. Great building and history. Tiny room. No chair or desk. Tiny closet. But there is a fridge and safe. There is no elevator and although a bell man exists I never saw him. The best rooms I think are on Floor 2 and 3. Good luck hauling your luggage up there. Our room was too hot and the person at the desk had to send an engineer because she did not know the room had a thermostat. Which made us feel silly for not seeing it in the first place. This tiny room was normally $523 a night. Not what we paid due to Expedia and off season. The bed was a bit hard and shower was not good. Plenty of hot water and the coffee maker was great. Coffee was good. Restaurant was lovely but expensive. Food very good. Not a lot for a vegetarian. There was a nice area to sit in outside your room but the fireplace was broken and being mid winter the area was freezing. I probably would not stay there again but it was really well located.

Restaurant has excellent service however the food was dry and bland. Also, they charge $75 fee if you only stay one night.

We went on January and expected the fireplace in the Lobby to be working. It was not. Was one of the main reasons we booked there.

It appeared most of the staff may have failed to remember that they work in a service industry. Some were great, but most didn't even bother to try.

The location is incredible! Loved being able to walk out the door and be at the Grand Canyon! Loved the lodge-like setting, great common area loft with tables available for families to gather and play games, etc. I did not particularly like the fact that there were pumpkin seeds on the floor of our room (not mine!) and unfortunately had an elephant on a pogo stick in the room above us our last 2 nights.

Staying at El Tovar in the historic Grand Canyon area was an unforgettable experience. The hotel’s location is unparalleled—just minutes from the South Rim, offering breathtaking views and easy access to trails and lookout points. Hotel was built in 1905 so like other reviews indicate there are no elevators. That was not an issue for us as we were well area and appreciated the historic charm.

Not the best room in the house

Room was not good. Overlooking service truck parking and 5 am delivery/garbage service with accompanying vehicle back up alarms and headlights shining in the windows. Small room. Tight bathroom. Good for a single occupant, not a couple. Very expensive ! Room was assigned by hotels dot com. I recommend booking by the El Tovar folks instead

In would not recommend

Not at all what we had hoped for. Our view consisted of a parking lot, not the Canyon. Extremely disappointing. Don’t get me started on the restaurant availability.
