Disappointing

The hotel looks beautiful from the outside. Our room was about a 5 minutes trek through windy corridors into a separate building behind the hotel. The separate building felt like student dorms or something. Stained carpets, dark, dirty & not very appealing compared to the outside. It felt like we'd been shoved into servant quarters or something. The mattress is very poor quality as are the pillows. The room was big & had everything we needed. The shower leaked absolutely all over the floor due to a gap in the panel & we had to literally mop up the floor with towels and wring them out after a shower. The breakfast starts late at 8am, so we couldn't have that as we needed to leave early.

This is a very pretty hotel and grounds and it is obviously a popular venue for weddings as there was one both Friday and Saturday of our stay. It was a bit hectic with all of the activities but not inconvenient. Our room was clean and comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was good. My only issue was as a person with mobility challenges I found the lack of elevators disappointing. If I stay here again I will have to be sure to request a first floor room.

I didn't like the fact that there was an alarm test during breakfast with ear-splitting alarms going off. Don't know if that could have been done differently. I wished there was a business center so I would not have to wake my family when I had a work meeting. The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. The grounds are beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. The building was also gorgeous. Wish there was a microwave in the room to heat up food delivered. Will definitely come again.

Rough start but they made it right

Booked on hotels.com, but when we showed up they said they didn’t have our reservation. There was a rager of a wedding there that night. We showed up as a bedraggled party of 10 with 4 kids in our party after our flights had been delayed 3 nights. Fortunately, when they saw we were like sheep without a shepherd, they had compassion for us and got us rooms, despite the rooms being in theory booked by Delta for their delayed customers.

Over all a very bad experience and total rip off in hotel price. This is not a hotel for people other than those hosting/staying at events or conferences. You feel very much unwelcome here. Staff really lacking in basic customer service (got barked at when I asked where the hotel lobby was). Very bad food and tepid drinks in the only food option open at the pool till 4 pm. Rooms run down. No restaurant so had to scramble for dinner. Really felt trapped in this place that lures people by its title “Mansion” - it’s far from it, and moreover, even the Mansion bits of the hotel are off limits for guests. Please avoid this “hotel.”
