Comfortable Country Stay
My family & I have stayed here twice while visiting Virginia for metal detecting trips - March & November 2022. Both trips this cottage was exactly what we needed! We travel with our 2 dogs & this place was perfect. They loved all the country smells & watching the cows out front and the geese that visited the nearby pond. Got some lovely pictures. Enjoyed the beautiful sunrise over the farm from the screened in porch. Comfortable & exactly what you'd expect from a rural farm cottage. It was nice having more space & privacy compared to a hotel. Would absolutely stay here again! Owners were nice & were quick to answer any questions we had.

Beautiful Farm Views
We came in for a family event and the Pond Cottage was perfect for our needs. Close to town but still remote with a quiet feel. Even with the hotspot access we could watch shows on the big screen TV. The coffee center stocked by the host is fantastic with lots of options - we enjoyed coffee on the porch looking over the green fields, cows, and horses. There is a fire pit area with chairs for the evening.

Do not book
This is NOT a home that you want to spend vacation time or money in. It is dirty and dated with no central air conditioning. If you are boarding your horses here and just looking for a semi-acceptable bed for the night it might work. But if you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable vacation home look for something else.

Not what we expected
I was excited to stay at this house when I saw the pictures. But I must say the bathrooms were really gross. The bottom of the toilet was so yellow and brown. It totally grossed me out. We also killed so many bugs in the house. I felt like every where we sat I had to look first to make sure there was no bugs. I had a huge spider bite on my neck as well. Would never go back. For the price we paid for our stay, I could have stayed in a cheap hotel and I would have been more comfortable. This place really needs to be fixed up. The porch screen was all torn, so you could not even sit on the porch without getting bit my something., The grass was not even cut. I had to walk my dogs and the grass was past my ankles. This place needs a good cleaning and make over. Very disappointed.

Perfect Start to our Roadtrip
Stayed at Liberty Hall for 2 nights so we could hike in Shenandoah National Park which was about 45 minutes away. It was so relaxing to wake up on the farm with cows and horses all around us. Met Dan who gave us great recommendations around the area. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Nice cabin getaway
This is a cute out of the way spot for families to unwind -especially during the pandemic! The cows come right up to the backyard and the surrounding area is beautiful. The manager of the property was friendly and available. We had an ice storm and power outage in the cabin so we had to leave earlier than anticipated.

Fabulous week
Family of four (two kids, 9 and 7 plus two large dogs) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Liberty Hall. Communication with Daniel and check-in was smooth and easy. The cabin had everything we needed for a fun and comfortable stay. It was not fancy, but everything was very clean and was functional. Beds were very comfortable. There were so many things to do and see, we were never inside. My kids loved swimming in the pond and we all enjoyed swimming in the river. The plantation is gorgeous and everyone was kind and helpful. We brought our four horses and they were also very happy, hanging out in the field by the cabin, in the stalls with fans, or exploring the trails. We will be back next summer!

Nitpicky
The home itself is beautiful and served our purposes perfectly as we were attending a wedding nearby. However, soon after we left, I received a text message from one of the property owners saying "you left quite a mess" which I found to be deeply inappropriate given that our stay was over. I felt as though I was being scolded by a parent. We left food as a gesture in case the next guests wanted it, took our trash outside to the larger receptacle, and weren't certain what to do with towels so we left them in the bathroom. We left some dishes and did not fully make the bed to perfection, but we also paid a $70 cleaning fee, so I'm not sure what the issue even is. I'm not sure what the property owner's standards are, but this "mess" was WELL within the limits of what we've left in every AirBnB/similar service I've ever stayed in, and I have NEVER received a complaint. We really loved the space, especially the beautiful land and coffee on the porch in the morning, but I'd suggest that the owner provide a list of rules or expectations for the next guest(s).

Country retreat
This is a beautiful setting and the property is well maintained. We enjoyed our stay and the kids enjoyed petting the horses and watching the butterflies in the lane. Be aware that the final price was just shy of twice the list price due to fees. This felt deceptive (and taxes were charged two days following the initial cost so the price was more than the initial total that appeared) but this may be due to the interface between Evolve and VRBO. The property manager was quite responsive. There is no WiFi so bring a hot spot if you desire internet access.
