2 night stay in Cloudcroft
The cabin is as listed. We stayed there for 2 nights and enjoyed the forest view, the jacuzzi and the BBQ We realized the cabin hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival, the contact with the host to fix this was efficient, someone showed up 15 mn after reporting the issue. Kitchen is well stocked, and all appliance we used were functional. We would come back if we have the opportunity, and recommend this place.

Family Getaway
We enjoyed our stay in this cabin during our recent family vacation. The cabin was very accommodating for our family of 6. The 3rd story loft was perfect for our 6 and 7 year old's that served not only as a bunkroom but also as a playroom with toys. The kitchen included many necessities to prepare meals during our stay. Although we didn't need during our stay, the cabin included a nice fireplace that would serve guests well during cold weather visits. The cabin also includes a nice hot tub that our family enjoyed access to. The location is walkable to downtown via a walking trail not far off the back deck. We would stay here again and recommend to future guests.

Relaxing family vacation
The house was perfect for a relaxing family vacation. The house is clean and has lots of space, with plenty of extra blankets and towels. The kitchen had everything we needed. The view out the back is wonderful with birds, deer, and elk coming by every day. It is an easy walk to the shops in Cloudcroft, and we walked down to enjoy pizza and pies a few times. The hiking trails behind the house are lovely and easy to access.

We all loved this cabin, super cute, spacious and cozy. The location was great, we all enjoyed the hiking right behind the cabin, such beautiful views as well. Only down fall was Stairs are a bit steep and I took a ugly fall down a flight of them. We enjoyed this cabin, with lots of family time. Thank you for the rental.

Wiseman Family Reunion
We first visited Bear Ridge Log Cabin in 2009 when my grandaughters were 7 and 4 and returned several years later. It was o lovely to be back and the granddaughters, now 22 and almost 19 absolutely loved it. The views from the balcony are lovely and having the Lincoln National Forest outside the back door was great. We saw a mule deer, and a mama skunk with 4 little ones. The contact for questions or problems was very responsive to our one call. The book the owners provided was fascinating with the story of how the cabin came to be and loads of local and park information. We will be back!!

No ac/safety concerns
The main issue is that the thermostat wasn’t working and I had elders there. The electrical plugs in the upstairs bedroom were not working. The downstairs electrical plugs kept turning off and on. The grills push lighter was broken. One of the rocking chairs and two stools on the third story balcony were about to fall apart when you sat on them (two of the stools were just old and falling apart/and the hand carved rocking chair the pieces weren’t glued together). Found clumps of hair on the pillows. Foosball table was broken. Third story TV was fuzzy. Communication with host was spotty at best. I have pictures of all issues. Was not happy or impressed for the price I paid!!!! Maintenance came to look at electrical issues and said it would take days to fix and said to tell management our issues.

Wonderful
Beautiful log home! Much nicer than expected. Perfect for multiple families. The children’s play area was a great bonus. Hot tub, outside grill, and inside fireplace all worked great. Plenty of hot water for multiple showers. We were fortunate to have a lot of snow while we were there and could walk right out into the forest to find a great hill to sled down. We enjoyed our stay very much and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

Wonderful stay over Christmas with family.(6 adults, 2 kids) Plenty of space for everyone. Very well maintained and clean. Enjoyed short hikes in the snow, the hot tub, fireplace,(plenty of wood provided ) toys for kiddos, snow tubing, skiing and shopping in town. But most of all just hanging out with the family in the lovely, cozy space and watching the deer visit daily in the back yard.

If you have kids the loft area is perfect for them.with toys and bunk beds. The Hot Tub was a nice relaxing option available, in great condistion. They had everything we needed and then some. We all enjoyed the house and location. The brewery is in walking disctance, theres a trail practically property adjacent. I would have liked to of stayed longer and gotten some real hiking in. Great spot beautiful home with a very unique story. My husband loved learning about and discovering the jacks. It was great!!

Great location!
This cabin is close to everything we needed. Walking distance to town, restraunts, running and hiking trails. Our vehicles didn't move all weekend! The hot tub was a nice treat! The open area behind the house was fantastic. Our kids played for hours out there. A few things to be aware of... the house was not well stocked. We had to go get hand soap, laundry detergent, clorox wipes and trash bags... we didn't mind but we also didn't know to bring some of those things (we VRBO alot... most of that is provided). I don't know if it was a busy weekend or the norm but the Family Dollar (the only thing besides an Allsup's... there is NO grocery store!) was very picked over and had lots of empty shelves. Also for a house this size more towels should be available. Really a great house but just a few things to have a heads up about!

Spring break 2023
The futon in the loft was not suitable for adults with a very sagging mattress. The tub shower is inconvenient for adults and the other shower is small and cramped. The hot-tub was not clean; however, management took care of it right away and was very responsive. Deer came up to the rear of the cabin daily, fire place worked great, sheets were very soft, we had hoped for a more secluded area as opposed close neighbors.

Getaway
We went with 3 other couples for a 4 day weekend. We arrived late Friday night but still enjoyed the hottub and the herd of deer that came to visit. The deer returned morning and night and we actually bought a bag of deer corn to keep them from staring us down. We enjoyed eating at the brewery and at Mad Jack's. The wait was totally worth it!! Our least favorite part was the electricity going out in the entire village for the last 22 hours of our stay. The winds were gusting up to 80mph and a tree took out the lines. The temperature was down to 18 degrees but we built a fire and had an adventure. Would just request some flashlights and lanterns because it was VERY dark. Thank goodness the stove and hot water heater were gas powered....we were able to cook some breakfast and wash dishes.
